MKG Consulting has just published its ranking of the world's top 10 hotel groups. largely dominated by Marriott International<\/strong> which passed the 1.4 million rooms mark. Despite the difficulties encountered by all the hotel groups last year, this top 10 still shows a dynamic development and has seen relatively few changes. The main one sees the fall of the Indian start-up Oyo<\/a><\/strong>which was in second place last year and has now fallen back to ninth place. With its fairly flexible affiliation model, its offer rose in a short space of time to 1.2 million rooms, only to fall sharply to 549,000 rooms at the beginning of 2021. While Oyo's ambitions have been scaled back, mainly in China, but also in Europe and the United States, it is still well established in certain Asian markets, including India of course, but also Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Japan.<\/p>\n
