But the country only ranks 13th position<\/strong> for the overall quality of its infrastructure<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to Joe Biden, \"\u00a0After decades of disinvestment, our roads, bridges and water distribution systems have fallen into disrepair. Our electricity network is vulnerable to catastrophic failure. Too many people have no access to affordable broadband internet or quality housing,<\/em>\u00a0\"says the Chairman.<\/p>\n

This means a considerable effort for transport infrastructure<\/strong> which will considerably improve travel and the lives of passengers. Visit 620 billion dollars<\/strong> The funds earmarked will be used to repair motorways, rebuild bridges, improve ports and airports and public transport systems.<\/p>\n

      • Roads and motorways<\/strong>. According to the Biden administration, 20% of the road network is in poor condition, i.e. 277,000 km of lanes and 45,000 bridges. Around ten of America's largest bridges are to be rebuilt and 10,000 other bridges in poor condition rehabilitated. More than 32,000 km of roads will also be renovated.<\/li>\n
      • Public transport<\/strong>. The Department of Transportation estimates that $105 billion would be needed to buy 24,000 new buses, 5,000 railcars and repair 200 stations and thousands of rail tracks and electric signals. The Biden administration plans to spend $85 billion - double the current investment in public transport. Joe Biden hopes that Congress will approve 80 billion in rail investment, in particular for the modernisation of Amtrak, the US rail network.<\/li>\n
      • Ports and airports.<\/strong> The American presidency wants to spend 25 billion dollars. The Biden administration notes that while American aviation is one of the densest in the world, no airport ranks in the top 25 in terms of comfort and facilities. The programme aims to modernise air traffic control, support the renovation of terminals and develop multimodal connectivity. Joe Biden is also asking Congress to approve an additional $17 billion for inland waterways, coastal ports, land ports of entry and ferries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        However, this ambitious programme will have to pass under the forks of the Congress<\/strong>. And given the scale of public spending, a number of Senators will most likely be reluctant to launch the country into such a programme. Even if it will create millions of jobs and ultimately give the country a world-class infrastructure. The battle over the Biden Plan<\/strong> has only just begun!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
