If they are <strong>banned, except for compelling reasons, until at least 17 May<\/strong>, \"\u00a0<em>The government hopes that people will be able to travel to and from the UK for summer holidays this year, but it is still too early to know what is possible.<\/em>. \"<\/p>\n<p>At the same time as encouraging people to spend their holidays at home, and advising those with a wanderlust to go further afield <em>\"not to book their summer holidays abroad until the situation is clearer<\/em>\" London is considering a new three-tier system. <strong>When non-essential international travel resumes<\/strong>These will be governed by a system of \"traffic lights\" based on the state of the pandemic and the progress of vaccination programmes in the various countries.<\/p>\n<p>While the final list has not yet been drawn up, the<strong> green\" countries<\/strong>where the risk is the lowest, will not need to be treated. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/royaume-uni-quarantaine-renforcee-20210118.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">quarantine<\/a> on return to the UK, although pre-departure and return tests will still be required. For countries in orange, quarantine at home will be required, along with a number of tests. Finally, for countries showing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/restrictions-allemagne-royaume-uni-20210326.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a red light<\/a> <\/strong>The rules currently in force for high-risk countries, including most of South America and southern Africa, will apply. In other words, all travel from these countries will be banned, except for British nationals and residents who are<strong> quarantined at the hotel<\/strong> when they enter the UK.<\/p>\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>Before the resumption of non-essential international travel, we will present our initial assessment of which countries will fall into which category. Subsequently, the countries will move between the<strong> red, orange and green lists<\/strong> depending on the data<\/em>s\", explains the British government. A report drawn up by the International Travel Taskforce is due to be unveiled on 12 April, and will provide further details on the forthcoming system.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vapo-widget\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Although international travel to and from the UK will not resume until mid-May, it will then be governed by a three-tier
