Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/union-europeenne-reouverture-americains-20210426.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>American travellers<\/strong> had already been given the green light<\/a> by the President of the European Commission a few days ago, on condition that they have been vaccinated: a measure that is likely to become widespread. Indeed, the <strong>European Commission<\/strong> a deposited <strong>Monday<\/strong> a proposal to \"ease restrictions on non-essential travel to the EU and an 'emergency brake' mechanism against variants\". In other words, the vaccine should soon reopen the doors of Europe to international travellers who have been banned for a year, without the need to justify an <strong>overriding reason<\/strong>. Examination of this proposal by the European Commission is due to begin on <strong>4 May<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, \"countries with a good epidemiological situation\" should see access conditions relaxed. In particular, the Commission plans to raise the threshold for the number of new cases of COVID-19 used to determine the countries from which all travel is authorised without a vaccine, and without any major reason. At present, only seven countries have such access. Principle of <strong>reciprocity<\/strong> The countries concerned must also have lifted the restrictions imposed on European travellers.<\/p>\n<p>To protect against a possible resurgence of the epidemic on an international scale, the European Commission's proposal also provides for <strong>\"emergency brakes<\/strong> a terminology already present in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/deplacements-salons-professionnels-deconfinement-20210430.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">plan <strong>decontamination<\/strong> announced in France<\/a> by Emmanuel Macron. This new mechanism reserves the right for Europe to close its borders again to a country whose situation is deemed too worrying. This emergency brake would then be coordinated at European Union level: coordination that has been sorely lacking on the \"Old Continent\" since the beginning of the health crisis...<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Are we heading for a reopening of Europe to vaccinated travellers this summer?
