They use the latest technological advances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a development that the Amsterdam Schiphol airport authorities had been working on for some time. Reconfiguration work was carried out to replace the X-ray machines in the various security filters. The first tests began in <strong>2015<\/strong> and are nearing completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-schiphol-tourmente-20221011.html\/\" data-id=\"133357\">Amsterdam Schiphol still in turmoil<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Before the summer of 2021, <strong>the renovated Departure Hall 1 will be fully operational with 21 safety filters<\/strong> equipped with scanners. These filters can be combined with the capacity of the 14 security filters in Hall 2. The 35 passage points are <strong>one of the largest in the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This capability enables <strong>improved traffic flow<\/strong> and above all a <strong>greater flexibility in passenger handling<\/strong>. In the event of congestion, passengers can use one concourse or the other alternately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-consignes-de-transport-de-liquides-en-cabine-toujours-valides\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Instructions for carrying liquids in the cabin still apply<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>This makes us unique in the world. It's good news for passengers, as they no longer need to remove liquids and electronic devices from their bags when going through security. It's also good news for security staff. Thanks to the new scanners, they can see the baggage they are checking on their 3D screen and even rotate it 360 degrees.<\/em>\" explains <strong>Hedzer Komduur, Deputy Director of Safety, Security and Environment, Royal Schiphol Group<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the airport continues to advise <strong>travellers to carry liquids and gels in their hold baggage<\/strong> as much as possible. It is recommended that they only be carried in hand luggage if they are packaged in packs of no more than 100 millilitres and carried in a sealed bag. Containers larger than 100 ml may only be taken into the protected area if authorised by the security control teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the <strong>restrictions on liquids at most other airports continue to apply<\/strong>.
