Chicago is home to a new hotel, one that is sure to rival the finest in the North American metropolis: the Pendry Chicago. Located in the heart of <\/strong>Loop business district<\/strong>,<\/a> Close to the Magnificent Mile and the headquarters of many major companies and dynamic start-ups, the hotel has taken up residence in an iconic Art Deco building, the Carbide & Carbon Building. Designed by the Burnham brothers, the building is recognisable by its black granite fa\u00e7ade crowned by a golden cap evoking a bottle of champagne.<\/p>\n

Converted to a hotel in the early 2000s under the Hard Rock Hotels brand, the site has been renovated and its spaces reinvented by Studio Munge. The hotel now offers 364 elegant rooms and suites, a French-style brasserie and intimate bar, and a terraced swimming pool, until the end of June, a rooftop summer bar overlooking Michigan Avenue<\/strong>. In keeping with its business location, the Pendry Chicago also offers more than 1,000 square metres of space dedicated to meetings and events. All of this is enhanced by a collection of works by local and world-renowned Chicago artists, in line with the chic, arty feel of the brand.<\/p>\n

Pendry was launched in 2014 by Montage Hotels & Resorts, known across the Atlantic for its ultra-luxury resorts, whether in Beverly Hills and Laguna Beach, Deer Valley in the mountains, or Los Cabos in Mexico. The urban counterpart to these resorts, Pendry, opened its first two stores in 2017, in the historic heart of San Diego and in the city centre. in Baltimore with the conversion of the former maritime terminal, Recreation Pier<\/strong>This was the route taken by thousands of migrants from 1914 onwards. Left derelict for two decades, its main building has been converted into a luxury hotel and has been completed with a contemporary 128-room extension combining a top-of-the-range steakhouse, chic event space with several meeting rooms and a ballroom, as well as a swimming pool overlooking the busy port.<\/p>\n

After San Diego, Baltimore and Chicago, Pendry will be continuing its conquest of major American cities over the next two years with four other openings for as many chic hotels<\/strong> who will be affiliated to the Preferred Hotels LVX collection<\/a>. Back in April, Pendry appeared in Los Angeles, at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Olive Drive, in the West Hollywood district. Along the famous Sunset Strip<\/strong>The hotel offers 149 luxury rooms, complemented by 40 private residential flats. A new place that reflects the city's energy and glamour within its walls, with restaurants designed by star chef Wolfgang Puck, a private club, a room for around a hundred people for VIP concerts, and a rooftop swimming pool. For exclusive professional events, there is a projection room, bowling alley, Spa Pendry, state-of-the-art fitness centre and a collection of cutting-edge works of art.<\/p>\n

Pendry moves to New York this summer<\/strong>in the new business district on the west side of Manhattan: Hudson Yards. Situated between Madison Square Garden and the new line 7 station, the hotel will be part of a complex of six buildings that includes the headquarters of Accenture, Amazon and EY. The design of the new hotel, by Gachot Studios, combines features from both coasts of the United States and is integrated into a building by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. In addition to 134 rooms and 30 suites, the hotel features an exclusive restaurant, a lounge area and terrace bar, and meeting spaces including a large ballroom.<\/p>\n

After New York, Pendry will be heading for the American capital next year with the Pendry Washington D.C. - The Wharf. This hotel is part of phase 2 of the revitalising the waterfront along the Potomac River<\/strong>. When it opens, the luxury hotel will offer 131 rooms, including 34 suites, three restaurant concepts, including a chic cocktail bar, a swimming pool with an indoor\/outdoor restaurant, a rooftop bar and lounge, a spa and a fitness centre. Naturally, business meetings and gatherings will be able to take place here, notably in the rooftop event space. This urban development will be complemented by another upmarket destination, but this one more leisure-oriented: the Park City ski resort, with a 150-room hotel at the foot of the slopes.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
