{"id":111015,"date":"2021-06-22T12:06:17","date_gmt":"2021-06-22T10:06:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=111015"},"modified":"2022-04-04T09:18:05","modified_gmt":"2022-04-04T07:18:05","slug":"eurowings-base-prague","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/eurowings-base-prague","title":{"rendered":"Eurowings in CSA's shoes?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The current difficulties facing <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vers-liquidation-czech-airlines-20210316.html\/\">CSA<\/a><\/strong>the Czech national carrier, appears to be an excellent opportunity for the <strong>Lufthansa Group<\/strong> <strong>which has decided to open a new Eurowings base in Prague<\/strong>. It will be the company's tenth in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>One man's misfortune is another man's gain... <strong>Czech national carrier CSA has been struggling with financial difficulties for many years.<\/strong>. And the Covid-19 pandemic has further exacerbated its difficulties. The company is now a shadow of its former self. All it has left is<strong> two aircraft in its fleet - an Airbus A319 and an A320<\/strong>. Its network covers a dozen cities, including <strong>Paris<\/strong> served by four weekly flights. <strong>However, on 7 June, a rehabilitation plan was approved by its creditors.<\/strong>. Further details will be announced later this summer.<\/p>\n<p>In May, CSA resumed services from Prague to Copenhagen and from the beginning of June to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-navigation-en-3-0-20180404.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amsterdam<\/a> and Odessa. Its parent company, the Smartwings group, on the other hand, offers a network of some forty destinations operated by the company of the same name.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Eurowings takes Prague by storm<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>This situation leaves Eurowings <strong>an opportunity to set up in a city with both leisure and business potential<\/strong>. Lufthansa's point-to-point subsidiary has announced that it will open a base on 31 October. <strong>Two Airbus A320s will be based there. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It has already announced that it will operate routes to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/athenes-crise-et-redressement-20190506.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Athens<\/a>Barcelona, Birmingham, Copenhagen, Milan, Stockholm and Tel Aviv<\/strong>. The network will also include a number of leisure destinations such as the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. Eurowings management has also specified that a <strong>third aircraft to join Prague base in summer 2022<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In this context, <strong>Eurowings has decided to reopen its stopover in Prague<\/strong>. The carrier is once again serving the city with<strong>one to two daily frequencies to D\u00fcsseldorf<\/strong>.
