For travellers, it's a win-win situation. They can now avoid waiting at airport check-in desks.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #a71f31\">Scan documents at home to reduce airport waiting times<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>From 18 August, Brussels Airlines is offering its customers travelling to France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece<\/strong> the possibility of having their necessary health documents checked remotely. The company has been testing this service in Spain since 11 August, and the initiative has been a great success.<\/p>\n<p>With this new service, the airline wants to make travelling easier and more accessible, and reduce queues at airport check-in counters. Customers eligible for home document verification will receive an e-mail. <strong>It details the documents to be downloaded. Brussels Airlines sends this alert message three times<\/strong>. On the 6th and 3rd days and the day before departure.<\/p>\n<p>Once the documents have been uploaded, an encrypted email is sent to a Lufthansa Group service centre, where the documents submitted are checked. Once the documents have been validated, the passenger receives a confirmation email. They can then <strong>register online<\/strong>. <strong>In the event of missing or non-compliant documents<\/strong> to the rules, the service centre will inform the passenger and ask them to download the missing documents. In this case, <strong>the passenger will not be able to use online check-in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>What's more, <strong>Brussels Airlines has launched an interactive map <\/strong>where travellers can find all the information they need for their trip. It also provides an overview of the documents they need to have for their trip. By ticking a box when vaccinated, passengers can see which restrictions apply by country.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>government websites<\/strong> are in fact the sources of information for updating the interactive map.
