At the end of last week, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/interview-grazzini-air-austral-20200709.html\/\"><strong>Air Austral<\/strong><\/a> made its first flight in a <strong>Airbus A220-300<\/strong> brand new. On 18 August, the aircraft flew from Saint-Denis de la R\u00e9union to the island of Mayotte. This is the first scheduled service between the two French departments in the Indian Ocean to welcome the aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>The Airbus A220-300 represents a qualitative leap for the airline on the medium-haul network. The three latest-generation aircraft offer <strong>a two-class product (12 Comfort seats and 120 Leisure seats)<\/strong>. Their in-flight performance - particularly cabin silence - is helping to improve passenger comfort. The Airbus A220-300 opens up new horizons for us. It's the aircraft we needed to confirm our position as a leader in the Indian Ocean, while maintaining our prospects for sustainable profitability. We look forward to introducing our customers to this new travel experience as soon as the health situation permits.<\/em>\"said recently <strong>Marie-Joseph Mal\u00e9, Chairman and CEO of Air Austral<\/strong>. The aircraft is scheduled to serve South Africa, the Comoros, Madagascar, Mauritius, the Seychelles and Chennai in India.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"bodytext\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">A joint venture under negotiation with Corsair<\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">Furthermore, faced with a complicated health situation that seems to be dragging on, <strong>Air Austral<\/strong> discusses a <strong>cooperation agreement<\/strong> with the company <strong>Corsair<\/strong>. The agreement could lead to a joint venture in the<strong>operation of air routes between mainland France and R\u00e9union<\/strong>. The project will enhance the service offering by improving the economic profitability of operations through the pooling of resources.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\">In particular, it would contribute to <strong>expand the choice of flights<\/strong> (access to the two Paris airports, diversity of time slots). It would also offer greater opportunities for connections thanks to the combined networks of the two airlines. <strong>Synergies are envisaged on networks between the French overseas departments, Canada, Africa and the Indian Ocean.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"bodytext\"><strong>Air Austral and Corsair also say they want to work towards more competitive fares<\/strong>.
