But the statistics can be misleading. After all, growth is still at half-mast compared with 2019. The improvement is certainly visible compared with the first few months of the year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nevertheless, IATA notes that <strong>number of passengers expressed in RPK is still 53.1% lower than in July 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-l-europe-reprend-des-couleurs\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Europe back in the black<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Europe's airlines continued to recover<\/strong>. These encouraging results are due to the lifting - or at least the easing - of restrictions on foreign travel. But it's also due to the holiday season and the irrepressible need for northern Europeans to find a bit of sunshine in the south of the continent. <strong>The number of passengers <\/strong>expressed in RPK<strong> has progressed <\/strong>from one year to the next<strong> of 121.2%<\/strong>with aircraft load factors climbing from <strong>9.4 points<\/strong> to reach <strong>72,5%<\/strong>. Looking ahead to July 2019, <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>passenger numbers are still down by 56.5%<\/strong>. The occupancy rate is 16.5 points lower than in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/iata-benefices-compagnies-aeriennes-2023-20221206.html\/\" data-id=\"137601\">IATA now forecasts a return to profit in 2023<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-ameriques-caracolent\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">The Americas in the ascendancy<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>And yet it was not Europe that posted the best performances in July. According to the IATA barometer, it was <strong>Latin America is the champion continent in every category<\/strong> growth. <strong>Passenger numbers jumped from<\/strong> <strong>572,3%<\/strong> (expressed in RPK), while the fill rate reached 79.3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of occupancy rates, the<strong>North America in the lead<\/strong> in July. The average is <strong>84,1%<\/strong> This was due to strong demand on US domestic routes, as well as strong leisure traffic between the United States and Mexico. <strong>Passenger numbers in North America rose by 254.81TP3Q<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-l-asie-a-la-derive\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Asia adrift<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that the <strong>Middle East back in colour too<\/strong>With the resumption of connections to Europe and transfer traffic - in particular to the entire Gulf region, but also to Africa and a number of Asian destinations. <strong>Passenger traffic in July was 227.7% higher than in 2020.<\/strong>. However, the load factor was relatively low at 51.3%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The only region that continues to struggle is <strong>Asia<\/strong>. July saw a rise in the number of <strong>in passenger numbers, up 33.1%<\/strong>. We can see that this growth remains well below that of other continents. If we compare the situation with the figures for 2019, air traffic in Asia remains <strong>less than 94%<\/strong>.
