With growth of 38% in August alone, France's second-largest airport now boasts a 2% increase in total passenger numbers since January.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nice will have welcomed almost 3.5 million passengers between January and August 2021<\/strong>This confirms the steady upturn in air traffic since late spring. Over the first eight months, traffic showed a <strong>increase of 2%<\/strong>a rather encouraging sign. At the end of July, passenger traffic at the C\u00f4te d'Azur hub was still 8% lower than in January-July 2020.<\/p>\n<p>As good news doesn't come alone, the<strong>he airport recorded more than one million passengers in August<\/strong>This is a result that has not been seen since the beginning of 2020. The 1.035 million passengers represents growth of 37.9% compared with August 2020. In detail<strong>North America <\/strong>and the <strong>Middle East<\/strong> are neck and neck in terms of growth. The two regions saw a spectacular increase of 999.9% in additional passengers. This result can be explained by the resumption of the <strong>Delta Air Lines, Emirates <\/strong>and <strong>The Company<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The summer destination of Nice also had a positive impact on European traffic. The airport recorded an increase of 51.1% in August - or more than 550,000 passengers. Traffic flows with the European Union did even better, with growth of 82.4%. Finally, the upturn with Africa was also confirmed, with passenger numbers jumping by 96.2%.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #a71f31\">Towards 5 million passengers by the end of 2021?<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>If the trend continues, <strong>the airport can hope to pass the five million passenger mark again at the end of the year<\/strong>. At this level of traffic, airlines will continue to<strong>use Terminal 2 only for the winter season<\/strong>. With the possibility of reopening Terminal 1 for the next summer season.<\/p>\n<p>Especially as demand from airlines for a return to Nice is growing. The latest is the Romanian low-cost airline, <strong>Blue Air<\/strong>since 16 September, has been offering four weekly flights on <strong>London-Heathrow<\/strong>. <strong>Eurowings<\/strong> recently announced that it would be opening two weekly flights to <strong>Stockholm Arlanda<\/strong>. <strong>Qatar Airways<\/strong> also announced his return to the capital of the C\u00f4te d'Azur.
