The commitment to Airbus includes <strong>seven A220s and 11 A320neo Family aircraft, plus 10 A330neos<\/strong>. Among the other aircraft, the airline says it will also operate Airbus A350s. Another lessor will be approached for this leasing.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Airbus, sole supplier to ITA<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>It's a fact, <strong>ITA, unlike ex-Alitalia, will operate a fleet from a single aircraft manufacturer - Airbus in this case.<\/strong>. The airline, which is due to recover 52 former Alitalia aircraft, is not expected to include Alitalia's few Boeing 777s in its fleet.<\/p>\n<p>Many of the <strong>59 new ITA devices<\/strong> will gradually replace older models. <strong>ITA expects first Airbus delivery in the first quarter of 2022<\/strong> and that the leased aircraft will be delivered in the second half of that year. Deliveries will continue until 2025.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The new national airline aims to have 70 % of its fleet in 2025 made up of new-generation aircraft, such as the A220 and A330neo.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Alfredo Altavilla, Executive Chairman of ITA, said in a statement that the contracts \"\u00a0<em>boost our business plan to achieve our objectives of a new environmentally-friendly fleet and significantly lower operating and leasing costs.<\/em>\" .<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vapo-widget\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Italian carrier ITA, the successor to Alitalia, has just placed its first order for a new, more efficient fleet.
