This route was originally due to open in 2020, but was postponed until better times. It will now open on 3 June with twenty weekly flights. <strong>The British carrier has also announced the resumption of services to Pittsburgh on the same date.<\/strong>. This route will be served four times a week. Boeing 787-8 aircraft will operate these two routes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aer Lingus<\/strong> has started its new transatlantic routes from <strong>Manchester<\/strong>. Since December, this has involved a daily flight by Airbus A321neo (in long-haul configuration) to New York JFK and four weekly flights to Orlando in Florida. <strong>Iberia<\/strong> is strengthening its position on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/iberia-expansion-ameriques-20211205.html\/\"><strong>five destinations in the United States<\/strong><\/a> from April, while <strong>Level<\/strong> launches the line <strong>Barcelona-Los Angeles<\/strong> four times a week from 28 March. <strong>Dallas <\/strong>and<strong> Seattle<\/strong> will appear for the first time in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/finnair-busan-dallas-20211112.html\/\"><strong>Finnair<\/strong><\/a> departing from Helsinki. The first is scheduled for February, the second for June. Last but not least, <strong>American<\/strong> will offer a daily flight <strong>Rome-Charlotte<\/strong> next April.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/portland-and-mt.-hood-from-pittock-mansi.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-117499 alignnone\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/portland-and-mt.-hood-from-pittock-mansi.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/portland-and-mt.-hood-from-pittock-mansi.jpg 900w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/portland-and-mt.-hood-from-pittock-mansi-300x118-derived.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/portland-and-mt.-hood-from-pittock-mansi-768x301-derived.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/a><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;\"><em>From June, British Airways will operate five weekly flights on the London-Portland route (Photo: Truflip99, CC BY-SA 4.0)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Reclaiming Gatwick<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In parallel with this transatlantic push, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/british-airways-londres-gatwick-20210830.html\/\">British Airways has confirmed the future network of BA Euroflyer, its low-cost subsidiary based at London Gatwick.<\/a><\/strong>. From March, the carrier will base a fleet of three aircraft at Gatwick. This fleet will be expanded over the months to reach more than fifteen aircraft by the end of the first half of the year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BA Euroflyer will occupy Gatwick's South Terminal and offer flights to 35 destinations<\/strong>. Most are located in the Mediterranean basin. In France, however, there have been flights to <strong>Bordeaux <\/strong>and<strong> Nice<\/strong>. The first will have four flights a week (Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) from 15 April. The second will have a daily flight from 31 March.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in another development, <strong>IAG, the parent company of British Airways, has announced that it is no longer interested in buying British Airways.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/iag-air-europa-20191104.html\/\">Spanish Air Europa<\/a><\/strong>. Announced for 2019, the acquisition of Air Europa would have strengthened IAG's position in Madrid. <strong>With a virtual monopoly, particularly on Latin American routes operated in tandem with Iberia<\/strong>. The reluctance of the European authorities, the crisis of covid with the fall in traffic and the indebtedness of the airline sector finally got the better of this merger...<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vapo-widget\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>2022 is set to be a year of major expansion for British Airways.
