NH Hotel has just added the following to its upmarket NH Collection brand two new hotels, one in Copenhagen and the other in Venice<\/a><\/strong>. To make their debut in the Danish capital, the group of Spanish origin, and a subsidiary of Thailand's Mino<\/a>r today has moved into a building that is emblematic of the Brutalist era, the former headquarters of the shipbuilding company Burmeister & Wain, designed in 1962 by the modernist architect Palle Suenson.<\/p>\n

Nestling on the water's edge in the lively central district of Christianshavn, the NH Collection Copenhagen has taken over this area of the city. vast concrete structure<\/strong> long known as the \"Desert Fort\", which has been redeveloped by the architectural firms ATP Ejendomme, Arkitema and Henning Larsen. A sustainable transformation project, since the structure has been preserved, while the stones for the fa\u00e7ade have been cast from materials taken from the demolition of the interior. As for the interiors, they have been redesigned by the Swedish design studio Krook & Tjader in a spirit combining the industrial and harbour atmosphere of the place with warm chic<\/strong>. The highlight of the hotel lobby is a work of art in wood and brass by Danish artist Anna Bak, which refers to the building's maritime history.<\/p>\n

The hotel offers a total of 394 rooms and suites<\/strong>There are two restaurants - one of which specialises in tapas made with local, seasonal ingredients - a bar, a lounge and fitness facilities. As far as meetings are concerned, the hotel has a MICE area comprising seven modular rooms<\/strong> for small to large meetings of up to 252 people, bathed in natural light and overlooking the harbour.<\/p>\n

While the top-of-the-range brand already had a presence on the Grand Canal - and the group has three other hotels in the city and in Mestre - it has now set up its first hotel in the city. on the island of Murano<\/strong>The new building is located within the walls of the former Fornace De Majo glassworks, a complex that included 12 buildings dedicated to manufacturing. With its original fireplace, preserved brickwork and exposed concrete walls, the authentic atmosphere has been preserved by local architecture studio H&A Associati, whose design concept also calls on top-of-the-range brands such as Artemide, Rubelli, Sabla Italia and Varaschin for the furnishings.<\/p>\n
