And this despite a period that was not very conducive to travelling or<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/longs-sejours-hauteur-hoteliers-20210412.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> growing competition from hotel groups<\/a> more and more interested in this type of accommodation, which is just as well suited to medium- and long-term business trips as it is to family breaks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With 8,200 new units on offer in 10 countries, Ascott has reached<strong> a historic number of new residences<\/strong> last year, exceeding the target for 2020. \"\u00a0<em>Record signings for the fifth year running consolidate Ascott's position as an international leader<\/em>\" said Kevin Goh, Managing Director of Accommodation at CapitaLand Investment, the Singaporean investor which owns Ascott. Among these new residences, one has been added in France with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/citadines-restauration-reunions-strasbourg-20210908.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Citadines Eurom\u00e9tropole Strasbourg<\/a>operated as a franchise by the Aegide Group, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/ascott-residences-aegide-20190927.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">an increasingly popular development method<\/a> by the Singapore group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In fact, in parallel with all these inaugurations, Ascott concluded last year the signing of <strong>72 new residence projects<\/strong> - Of these, 58 will be under franchise and management contracts. This 'asset light' strategy will accelerate the growth of Ascott's offering, which aims to reach <strong>160,000 units worldwide by 2023<\/strong>This compares with a current portfolio of 133,000 units and 800 homes already in operation or planned, in more than 200 towns and cities and around 30 countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/oakwood-rachat-ascott-20220704.html\/\" data-id=\"127355\">Ascott acquires Oakwood<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>A number of business destinations will see the arrival of new group residences in the coming years. Ascott will further strengthen its presence in China, with developments expected in Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Tianjin, Wuhan, Wuxi, Xi'an and Zhuhai, among others. The group's original territory, <strong>The Asia-Pacific region is also benefiting from this dynamic.<\/strong> In 2022, the Citadines brand will open in Sydney in Australia, Phnom Penh in Cambodia, Goa and Guruguram in India, Jakarta and Bandung in Indonesia, Yangon in Malaysia and Manila in the Philippines.
