Expected to open on 12 April on the corner of Rue de l'Universit\u00e9 and Rue du Pr\u00e9-aux-Clercs, the Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain is part of the transformation of three 19th-century buildings that epitomise the cultural spirit of the district, where tenants have included L\u00e9o Ferr\u00e9, T.S. Elliot and James Joyce, the latter of whom completed his novel \"The Art of the Dead\" there.<em> Ulysse<\/em>his major work. Called Les Parisiens, this 55-cover restaurant with its modernised brasserie decor is run by one of the leading lights of Parisian bistronomy, Thibault Sombardier, a former finalist in the 2014 TV show Top Chef. With its entrance at number 3, the hotel bar also evokes the most famous of Irish writers. Appropriately named James Joyce, the relaxed venue aims to <strong>break away from the hotel bar scene<\/strong> by opening up to local customers, with a range of signature cocktails, tapas and draught beer.<\/p>\n<p>And finally the hotel, where the old porte coch\u00e8re at number 5 serves as a grand entrance. \"\u00a0<em>As in the most beautiful homes, I worked on the scale of intimacy, and as in the best hotels, I sought to make the everyday exceptional.<\/em>\" says Didier Benderli. Design pieces, custom-designed furniture and contemporary works of art all combine to create an atmosphere that is both luxurious and contemporary.<\/p>\n<p>As well as a basement spa, the Pavillon Faubourg Saint-Germain offers<strong> 47 rooms and suites<\/strong>. Hungarian point parquet and mouldings, contemporary furniture and designer accessories: each in its own way embodies the chic of flats in the best districts of Paris, ranging from 20m2 for the classic category to 70m2 for the signature suite in homage to... James Joyce. Naturally. What's more, the hotel's residents and visiting guests will find two lounges linked to the lobby - the library for informal meetings and the glass-roofed lounge, bathed in light - which can be used to organise corporate events.<\/p>\n<p>With this new establishment, Chevalier Paris completes its range of five-star establishments with character, which also saw the acquisition, in 2012, of the H\u00f4tel du Petit Moulin, designed by Christian Lacroix. <strong>in the Marais<\/strong>. It is in this very Parisian district that another charming hotel, combining French classicism and refined modernity, will open its doors in the autumn. It will also be an opportunity for the famous Swedish interior designer <strong>Martin Brudnizki<\/strong> and its London Design Studio to showcase its talent in Paris.<\/p>\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>I love the concept of<strong> salon litt\u00e9raire d'antan<\/strong>The 'salonniers' were one of the main sources of inspiration for the design of Le Grand Mazarin\".<\/em>said Martin Brudnizki. The Grand Mazarin is intended to be a real place to live, inspired by the great houses of the aristocratic era, with a d\u00e9cor announced as \"\u00a0<em>grandiose, both whimsical and deliciously warm.<\/em>\u00a0\"The hotel will have a restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool - a rarity in the Marais district - and 61 rooms, including 11 suites.
