Is it possible to rank these two major events in order of importance?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karim Benchekroun -<\/strong> We had integrated <strong>Oneworld<\/strong> from the month of<strong>April 2020<\/strong>. Unfortunately, the health crisis hit, and we were unable to celebrate this event. So we postponed it. But it was very important for us to mark this integration by organising events in Africa: in the <strong>Morocco<\/strong> of course, but also to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/abidjan-le-plateau-leconomie-ivoirienne-sur-grand-plateau-20191107.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Abidjan<\/a><\/strong>, \u00e0 <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/lagos-megacite-africaine-20190321.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lagos<\/a><\/strong>and probably in two other African countries by 2022. As for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/tel-aviv-sea-tech-fun-20170403.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tel Aviv<\/strong> <\/a>Of course, this is not a route like any other: it is emotionally charged, knowing that our fellow citizens who live in Israel will be able to come on direct flights. These two events therefore have their full importance and weight in the commercial strategy of <strong>Royal Air Maroc<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>We have a lot to gain from being part of one of the finest alliances in the world, made up of prestigious airlines.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-royal-air-maroc-est-donc-devenue-la-premiere-compagnie-africaine-au-sein-de-oneworld-pourquoi-si-tard\">Royal Air Maroc has therefore become the first African airline to join Oneworld. Why so late?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karim Benchekroun - <\/strong>It's a very long process. We've been in discussions with Oneworld for several years now. Each of the member airlines of the alliance has its own constraints, its own strategy. Perhaps the timing wasn't right for RAM's integration before, but in 2018 we received the official invitation to join Oneworld, not least because it was becoming important for the alliance to have such an important airline. <strong>presence on the African continent<\/strong> in a very pronounced way. And Royal Air Maroc is responding to this need to position itself strongly on the continent. We have a lot to gain from being part of one of the finest alliances in the world, made up of <strong>prestigious companies<\/strong>This will bring benefits for our customers and for us in terms of processes, because the quality of the services provided by each member company must be similar. Linking the networks of each airline also offers very interesting prospects. Checking baggage in Casablanca and collecting it on the other side of the world, using miles from one airline to obtain an upgrade on another: these are just some of the possibilities. <strong>major benefits for travellers<\/strong>and particularly frequent business travellers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>Routes to and from Morocco will return to their pre-crisis cruising speed by the end of 2023 or early 2024.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-dans-quelle-situation-se-trouve-aujourd-hui-royal-air-maroc-au-sortir-d-une-crise-particulierement-longue-avec-la-fermeture-des-frontieres-jusqu-au-mois-de-fevrier\">What is the current situation of Royal Air Maroc, following a particularly long crisis, with the closure of borders until February?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karim Benchekroun - <\/strong>Since the reopening of the borders, demand has picked up again in a very interesting way. Services to and from Morocco will <strong>return to pre-crisis cruising speed by the end of 2023 or early 2024<\/strong> I think. Of course the crisis has left its mark financially, and we're trying to remedy that as much as possible. But it has also been <strong>the opportunity to restructure many things within the company<\/strong>. This is a general trend for all airlines worldwide. The Morocco-France route is the most important for us in the business travel segment, and we are still a long way from 2019 levels, even if business travel is gradually picking up. As <strong>IATA<\/strong>However, it will take four or five years for airlines to return to pre-crisis levels in the business travel sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-marche-africain-du-voyage-d-affaires-est-souvent-presente-comme-un-marche-d-avenir-partagez-vous-cette-conviction-meme-dans-ce-contexte-inedit\">The African business travel market is often presented as a market of the future. Do you share this conviction, even in this unprecedented context?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karim Benchekroun - <\/strong>We hope so! We have a very extensive African network, which we are in the process of developing and enhancing. We have a fine business class, on both medium-haul and long-haul aircraft. So RAM really does have what it takes to capture a significant share of this business traffic. This activity to and from Morocco is picking up again. Many Moroccan companies are present in Africa, in the banking, insurance and public works sectors, and are gradually resuming travel. African businessmen are also starting to travel again, both to Morocco and beyond our borders. <strong>Casablanca hub<\/strong>. So there is a positive dynamic. We need to distinguish between two types of business traveller: there are the employees of the big multinationals, whose travel budgets have been drastically cut, and whose managers have got into the habit of organising \"business trips\". <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/visioconferences-salle-comble-20200326.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>remote meetings<\/strong><\/a>. The frequency of their journeys will be reduced for some time. But there are also the <strong>SMES<\/strong>In these cases, only two or three people are travelling. According to our analyses, they're going to have to continue travelling because they don't really have a choice. In this area, I think that activity levels will pick up fairly quickly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-on-imagine-que-la-modernisation-et-la-reorganisation-de-l-aeroport-de-casablanca-doivent-vous-permettre-d-envisager-l-avenir-avec-optimisme-peut-etre-avec-l-ambition-d-etendre-le-rayonnement-de-votre-hub-vers-l-est-de-l-afrique\">We imagine that the modernisation and reorganisation of Casablanca airport should enable you to look to the future with optimism, perhaps with the ambition of extending the influence of your hub to East Africa?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Karim Benchekroun - <\/strong>Exactly. For an airline to develop, it needs an adequate base. There has been a lot of work and redevelopment at<strong>Mohammed V airport<\/strong>. Today, we have a fine airport, which meets our needs and which will even grow in the next four or five years.
