If Eurostar Group's address is located at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/bruxelles-economie-art-reconversion-20191001.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Brussels<\/strong><\/a>However, each company will retain its current head office, located in London for Eurostar International Limited and in the Belgian capital for THI Factory SA (Thalys). It will be the hardest hit, with just 1.6 million customers in 2021 (compared with 11.1 million in 2019!), <strong>Eurostar<\/strong> only survived thanks to a \u00a3250 million (\u20ac290 million) recapitalisation by its various shareholders. This <strong>wedding<\/strong> is now presented as a <strong>shock treatment<\/strong> to hope to bounce back with a <strong>target of 30 million passengers by 2032, compared with 19 million for the two companies in 2019<\/strong>. In particular, new routes will be developed to achieve this particularly ambitious figure. Above all <strong>economies of scale<\/strong> will be achieved by pooling the high-speed train fleet and even the cabin crew, through the <strong>merging loyalty programmes<\/strong> and the introduction of a single IT system and a single booking tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/nouvel-eurostar-thalys-disparaitra-20230124.html\/\" data-id=\"141127\">New Eurostar: the Thalys brand will disappear in September\u00a0<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-trafic-affaires-toujours-a-la-peine\">Business traffic still struggling<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike leisure, the <strong>business segment<\/strong> is the slowest to recover from the health crisis. Firstly, for Eurostar, because of the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/visioconferences-salle-comble-20200326.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>video-conferencing boom<\/strong><\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/francais-disgrace-britanniques-20210720.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">formalities for entering the UK<\/a> which have remained very restrictive for a long time, the departure of many European workers since the start of Covid and the <strong>effects of Brexit on the City<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Customers still have to wait <strong>two or three years<\/strong> before seeing the <strong>initial commercial impact<\/strong> of the birth of this <strong>new Eurostar<\/strong>. Marketing campaigns and fare offers under the single Eurostar brand will be introduced to boost traffic and get passengers back on the trains. Jacques Gounon, the boss of the Channel Tunnel (Getlink, formerly Eurostar), has announced his intention of<strong>acquire 10 high-speed trains<\/strong> in order to lease them to a new entrant capable of generating 2 to 3 million passengers a year between the two capitals.
