The Algerian national carrier Air Alg\u00e9rie <\/strong>will finally proceed with the renewal of its aircraft fleet<\/strong>. This renewal had been suspended indefinitely. <\/strong>by the government in 2020 with the health crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a first for the company since the pandemic. The previous fleet renewal took place in 2016<\/strong>At the time, Air Alg\u00e9rie received Boeing 737<\/strong> and Airbus A330<\/strong>. With an average age of 14 years for its 55 aircraft, the fleet needs a serious facelift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The airline's new fleet renewal strategy could cost more than 1.7 billion<\/strong>. It is in fact part of a much wider restructuring initiative. The authorities are discussing the possibility of separate the carrier into several distinct entities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
