According to the figures provided by IAG, BA's holding company, the British airline has recorded <strong>an increase of <\/strong><span id=\"page23R_mcid7\" class=\"markedContent\"><span dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>740.3% in passenger numbers in the first quarter of 2022<\/strong>. That's 5.3 million passengers instead of 0.63 million in the first quarter of 2021. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #a71f31\">Staff shortages<br \/>\n<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>And clearly, the carrier was unable to anticipate this recovery, despite the fact that <strong>its capacity since the end of 2021 has risen from 30% to 80%<\/strong> pre-Covid figures. The carrier has launched a recruitment campaign for 6,000 people. But integrating these new staff will take time. The <strong>employee shortages are particularly acute among pilots and baggage handlers<\/strong>. But <strong>there are still a number of shortcomings<\/strong> judging by the comments made by Internet users on the carrier's social networks. In fact, Twitter is full of messages from travellers complaining about flights cancelled at the last minute, the impossibility of checking in online, or the inability to get a response by telephone, social networks or email.
