This is the <strong>first phase of the reopening of the terminal<\/strong>as the airport prepares for the increase in passenger traffic over the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Closed for refurbishment <strong>modernisation<\/strong> From May 2020, the gradual reopening of T2 will increase the airport's capacity. When completed in <strong>2024<\/strong>, <strong>the terminal's capacity will increase by five million passengers a year, <\/strong>to reach<strong> 28 million<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/singapour-art-recevoir-20230223.html\/\" data-id=\"141435\">Singapore: the age of reason, the art of entertaining<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plus-de-comptoirs-d-immigration-automatises\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">More automated immigration counters<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During this first phase of the reopening of T2, the<strong> baggage hall, immigration services on arrival<\/strong> as well as certain boarding lounges will be <strong>operational<\/strong>. <strong>T2 will mainly handle peak-time arrivals from airlines operating in Terminal 3 (T3).<\/strong>. A small number of flights departing from T3 will be able to use the boarding gates at T2. However, passengers on these flights will continue to check in and pass through immigration control at T3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The extended T2 will include <strong>a larger arrivals immigration hall with more automated immigration routes<\/strong>. These facilities will be reserved for Singaporeans and residents who have registered their biometric data (iris and face) with the Immigration Authority. Certain foreign visitors eligible for automatic passport reading and facial recognition will also have access.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-reprise-du-trafic\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Resumption of traffic<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, <strong>a partial reopening of the departure and transit zones could take place as early as October<\/strong>. The timetable for reopening will depend on the results of a feasibility study. But it will also depend on the availability of manpower and the evolution of traffic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In March<\/strong>, <strong>Singapore has recovered, <\/strong>for the first time in two years, monthly traffic of <strong>more than a million passengers<\/strong>. <strong>In April, traffic was up again, topping the two million mark.<\/strong>. This represents an increase of more than 1000% compared with the same month in 2021. With 4.5 million passengers over four months, traffic in Singapore has already exceeded that for the whole of 2021. Last year, Changi welcomed just 3.5 million passengers, a level comparable to that of the 1970s...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A trend confirmed by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/singapore-airlines-vols-vtl-france-20211011.html\/\">Singapore Airlines<\/a>. <\/strong>The company states <strong>traffic levels to Europe have returned to pre-pandemic levels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/singapore-airlines-wifi-gratuit-business-20230201.html\/\" data-id=\"141829\">Singapore Airlines: free, unlimited WiFi now on board business jets<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vapo-widget\"><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Air traffic is picking up in Singapore, and the authorities have just announced the partial reopening of Terminal 2.
