The airport is facing long queues to pass through security, due to a lack of staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-schiphol-tourmente-20221011.html\/\" data-id=\"133357\">Amsterdam Schiphol still in turmoil<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Queues at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/nouvelle-technique-controle-passagers-amsterdam-20210513.html\/\">Schiphol<\/a>Europe's third busiest airport, have grown in scale in recent weeks.<\/strong>. Spreading out into the street, they force travellers to wait for hours to pass through security checks. With many passengers missing their plane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-klm-suspend-la-vente-de-billets-pour-trois-jours\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">KLM suspends ticket sales for three days<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The national carrier KLM has therefore taken drastic decisions. \"\u00a0<em><strong>KLM suspends ticket sales for flights departing up to and including Sunday as Schiphol fails to resolve its security problems<\/strong><\/em>\" said <strong>Gerrie Brand, KLM spokesperson<\/strong> to the Reuters press agency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cap on ticket sales is therefore necessary to meet the needs of those who missed their flight because of the chaos at Schiphol. Passengers who missed their flight because of the congestion at the airport can be rebooked on flights departing within the next three days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>However, this measure does not affect the sale of tickets including a connection in Amsterdam.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-geler-les-creneaux-et-envoyer-les-avions-sur-les-aeroports-regionaux\"><span style=\"color: #a71f31;\">Freeze slots and send aircraft to regional airports<\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The management of Amsterdam Schiphol has announced that it plans to recruit more security staff before the summer holidays. According to a press release, a <strong>temporary regulation will also freeze time slots<\/strong>. Unused slots held by incumbent carriers will not be redistributed to other carriers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This measure should reduce the number of movements. The new rules apply from June 1 to August 28 and will enable better planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The airport authority also wants to transfer certain flights to regional airports in the Netherlands such as Rotterdam and Eindhoven.<\/strong>.
