There are some quirks in the selection of destinations for Michelin guides<\/strong><\/a>. If Paris, Brussels, London, Rome, New York, San Francisco, Bangkok or Tokyo<\/strong> are part of these prestigious culinary guides<\/strong>With the launch of the first edition of the Culinary World, we wondered why some of the world's best-known culinary destinations had not yet made the list. Admittedly, it's difficult to cover the whole planet. But why favour Belgrade over Boston, or Chengdu over Dubai?<\/p>\n

However, it seems that the Michelin Guide teams are now pulling out all the stops to award stars and Bib gourmands to destinations with a proven culinary reputation. By the beginning of 2023, the red-covered guides should cover some forty locations around the world.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2022 sees the arrival of several major destinations: Dubai<\/strong> (finally), but also Istanbul<\/strong> or even Toronto<\/strong>. These are eminently cosmopolitan cities, and a Michelin Guide is bound to highlight their culinary heritage and the creativity of their chefs.<\/p>\n

One of the most recent launches was in May the Michelin Guide to Estonia<\/strong>. There are 2 Michelin-starred restaurants, 5 Bib Gourmands and 2 Etoiles Vertes. Another surprise: the city of Nara, <\/strong>near Osaka and Kyoto in Japan. It boasts its own guide with an eloquent selection of distinguished restaurants: 101 recommended restaurants<\/strong> including 4 2-star restaurants, 18 1-star restaurants and 22 Bib Gourmands!<\/p>\n

Another eagerly awaited guide was the Florida<\/strong>. It joins New York, San Francisco and California, Chicago and Washington DC. A total of 118 restaurants, representing 35 different culinary styles in Miami, Orlando and Tampa<\/strong> were the focus of the attention of the Guide's inspectors.<\/p>\n

The first selection distinguishes 14 one-star restaurants and only one two-star restaurant - l'Atelier de Jo\u00ebl Robuchon Miami<\/strong>. \" This first selection shows just how Miami, Orlando and Tampa are packed with quality addresses for gourmets from all over the world,<\/em>\u00a0said Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of Michelin Guides. These talented chefs and their dedicated teams are able to offer culinary experiences that reflect the variety of each of these cities.<\/em> \".<\/p>\n

In addition to the starred restaurants, the Michelin inspectors awarded Bib Gourmands to 29 restaurants.
\nrestaurants. There are 19 in the Miami area, while Orlando and Tampa have seven and three respectively.<\/p>\n

We're now looking forward to the first Michelin Guides for Dubai, Istanbul and Toronto, <\/strong>which will be presented in the autumn. However, one destination has disappeared from the collection: the first and most recent edition of the Moscow guide. It is not certain that leaving such a guide would have been in good taste in the current context of war.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Florida, Dubai, Istanbul, Nara and Toronto have also been recognised as culinary paradises by the Michelin Guide teams.
