When the German federal government decided to reduce its citizens' energy bills for three months, one of the key measures was the introduction of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/allemagne-9-euros-train-20220519.html\/\"><strong>monthly ticket at 9 euros<\/strong> <\/a>valid on all regional trains and public transport in the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The measure ended on 31 August. And it was a huge success: <strong>52 million tickets sold<\/strong>according to the Association of German Transport Companies (Verband Deutscher Verkehrsunternehmen). One in 5 passengers was a newcomer, mainly because 17% of them had decided to switch from the car to public transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/deutsche-bahn-occupation-wagons-20230110.html\/\" data-id=\"139827\">Deutsche Bahn now shows wagon occupancy rates on screen<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>It's been a real success, and the public are now calling for this type of offer to be made permanent. <strong>The government has promised to find a new federal banknote<\/strong>. But it can no longer be set at \u20ac9, as the measure has in fact cost the State more than \u20ac2.5 billion. <strong>The government has therefore promised to find a successor, but its funding by the federation will be set at \u20ac1.5 billion. <\/strong>Another billion and a half euros will be paid by the L\u00e4nder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><p>A report has been commissioned and the results should be available on 12 October. <strong>Some are talking about a ticket costing around \u20ac60 per month, others \u20ac49.<\/strong>. They are managed with different tariffs from one region to another. Some regions offer special rates, others meeting cards. It would be a tedious task to harmonise all the services on offer.<strong> In addition, there are very few links between SNCF and local public transport companies.<\/strong>\" he analyses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And he concludes that what SNCF offers is better. \"With its wide range of fares and rail services, it offers access to trains to the greatest number of people. Examples include the low-cost Ouigo product for high-speed trains, discounted offers on regional networks, Avantage cards and the Carte Libert\u00e9 for very frequent travellers,\" explains Marco Filipe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While a ticket based on the German model seems never to have been unearthed in France, there is some good news. <strong>The SNCF-connect application should soon be integrated into the Ile-de-France Mobilit\u00e9s offer<\/strong>which manages public transport in Paris.
