{"id":132921,"date":"2022-10-03T11:17:16","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T09:17:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=132921"},"modified":"2022-10-14T12:00:58","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T10:00:58","slug":"united-airlines-adjusts-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/united-airlines-adjusts-network","title":{"rendered":"United Airlines adjusts its domestic network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The difficulty in recruiting pilots and weaker-than-expected post-covid demand on certain routes are reflected in the ongoing restructuring of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/united-airlines-capacites-inferieures-2022-20220121.html\/\"><strong>United Airlines<\/strong><\/a>. <strong>The American airline has already closed some 25 routes and is preparing to suspend a dozen more.<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Most of these changes should not affect European business travellers, as these are flights to small provincial cities, which supply the airline's hubs.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\">\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/united-airlines-europe-2023-20221013.html\/\" data-id=\"133525\">United Airlines: 10% of additional capacity between Europe and the United States in 2023<\/a><\/p>\r\n<\/aside>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>There are, however, a few exceptions... In particular on <strong>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/hubs-us-compagnies-aeriennes-20220916.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">hub<\/a> of San Francisco<\/strong>. United suspends flights at the end of the month <strong>to Saint Louis Lambert International Airport <\/strong>as well as<strong>to Detroit Metropolitan<\/strong>. In Los Angeles, the carrier is closing four routes, the most important being to Colorado Springs. The airport is the largest in the state of Colorado after Denver.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Another United decision: <strong>its departure from New York-JFK airport at the end of October<\/strong>. The company operated<strong> four daily routes<\/strong>, <strong>two to Los Angeles and two to San Francisco<\/strong>. The carrier is refocusing all its activities on Newark airport, its main East Coast hub.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Lastly, on the international front, United is suspending its flights linking <strong>Houston Intercontinental in Edmonton, Canada<\/strong>.
