With <strong>44.2 million passengers between January and September 2022<\/strong>growth was <strong>335%<\/strong> compared with 2021. This is far more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/groupe-adp-trafic-hausse-20220720.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Paris CDG<\/a> (+162%), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/amsterdam-schiphol-tourmente-20221011.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Schiphol<\/a> (+150%), Madrid (+147%) and Frankfurt (+127%). Hence the difference of 150 percentage points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/londres-francfort-montpellier-20230106.html\/\" data-id=\"139647\">London and Frankfurt for Montpellier airport in 2023<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-plus-de-60-millions-de-passagers-en-2022\">More than 60 million passengers by 2022?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-10-28.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"634\" height=\"607\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-10-28.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-135423\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-10-28.jpeg 634w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/2022-10-28-300x287-derived.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 634px) 100vw, 634px\" \/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Heathrow authorities are now planning to <strong>between 60 and 62 million passengers by 2022<\/strong>or approximately <strong>25 % less than in 2019<\/strong>. For the first nine months, traffic levels reached 73% of the same period in 2019. Traffic to Europe reached 75% of its 2019 level.<strong> However, it is Latin America that is performing best<\/strong>. Passenger traffic for the first three quarters of 2022 is already 19% higher than in 2019...<strong>A return to 2019 figures is therefore not expected before 2024.<\/strong>. In 2019, Heathrow recorded almost <strong>81 million passengers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airport authority blames the global economic crisis, the war in Ukraine, inflation with soaring commodity prices and reminiscences of Covid-19. \"\u00a0<em>It is unlikely that we will see a return to pre-pandemic demand for several years, except at peak times.<\/em>\" said the airport authority in a press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The company has also seen a drop in passenger satisfaction levels<\/strong>. Le <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/heathrow-limite-passagers-jour-20220713.html\/\">chaos at UK airports<\/a> This summer's security and baggage checks have had a negative impact on the perception of the airport. Heathrow says it is working with all those involved in the hub's traffic to recruit 25,000 security-cleared staff, which represents a huge logistical challenge.
