A major leap forward, since<strong> only five airlines in the alliance<\/strong> <strong>are currently applying this technology<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Launched in November 2020, current Star Alliance biometrics users include <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/lufthansa-swiss-biometrique-star-alliance-20201118.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lufthansa<\/a>Austrian Airlines and Swiss<\/strong>. <strong>Singapore Airlines and United Airlines<\/strong> have developed their own technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-canada-reconnaissance-faciale-20230223.html\/\" data-id=\"143455\">Air Canada tries its hand at facial recognition<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-les-passagers-miles-more-favorises-pour-le-biometrique\">Miles &amp; More passengers benefit from biometrics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Star Alliance technology is currently only available to members of the Miles &amp; More frequent flyer programme.<\/strong>. They must register for the Star Alliance biometrics service at least 24 hours before their flight. All they need is a valid passport and the latest version of the Lufthansa application or the Miles &amp; More application. As soon as they have enrolled, they can carry out the security checks and pass through the boarding gate filters without any contact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/biometrie-emirates-british-airways-20221116.html\/\" data-id=\"136437\">Biometrics: new applications for Emirates and British Airways<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Faced with the expected increase in air traffic over the next few years, <strong>Star Alliance to introduce additional biometric measures<\/strong>. The main concern is to ensure that airport procedures run smoothly and avoid bottlenecks like last summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Christian Draeger, this is a desirable objective rather than a binding one.
