Innovative by nature, the hub had already deployed this technology within terminal 3 to o<strong>ffecilitate a seamless travel experience for Emirates passengers<\/strong>. But only if they are residents of the United Arab Emirates or nationals of the Gulf Cooperation Council nations. From 2023, all international travellers will be able to take advantage of this simplified passage through the various checkpoints at the airport under an agreement between the Dubai-based airline and the General Directorate of Immigration, Naturalisation and Foreign Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/dubai-aeroport-tunnel-aquarium-20171112.html\/\" data-id=\"66935\">Dubai: biometrics at the end of the tunnel<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>We strive for excellence and continuous innovation to position Dubai as a world-class destination.<br>as the world's leading business centre and tourist destination<\/em>\" said Lieutenant-General Mohammed Al-Marri, Director General of the GDRFA. The GDFRA's biometric database, cross-referenced with artificial intelligence systems, makes it possible to identify a person's identity. <strong>the link between the face and the passport <\/strong>will be used to identify passengers at several points in the airport. Provided they have given their prior consent - whether via the Emirates app, at automatic check-in kiosks or at the airline's check-in counters - passengers bound for Dubai or connecting flights will be able to move smoothly through the check-in areas, lounges, boarding area and immigration department of Dubai International Airport's Terminal 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/star-alliance-technologies-biometriques-2025-20221028.html\/\" data-id=\"135427\">Star Alliance wants 50% of its members to use biometrics by 2025<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/premium-economy-emirates-a380-20221024.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Emirates<\/a>,<strong> British Airways<\/strong> is counting on the deployment of biometrics to facilitate passenger journeys. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/liens-british-airways-qatar-airways-20220927.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">British company<\/a> was already using this technology on its domestic flights and is now extending its reach internationally. For six months, passengers on flights between London and Malaga will be able to test an \"intelligent\" way of travelling on an optional basis. <strong>without having to show their passport<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/britishairways-biometrie.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-136473\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/britishairways-biometrie.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/britishairways-biometrie-300x169-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption><em>British Airways simplifies the journey for its passengers.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/reconnaissance-faciale-lufthansa-berlin-20230516.html\/\" data-id=\"148563\">Facial recognition replaces boarding passes at Lufthansa in Berlin<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Before arriving at the airport, travellers taking part in the trial will be asked to scan their face, passport and boarding pass. <strong>on their smartphone<\/strong> or their tablet, via the airline's app. On arrival at London Heathrow terminal 5, Smart Bio-Pod cameras will check their identity in less than three seconds, allowing them to move freely around the airport. They will also be able to use the Fast-Track security lane and benefit from free priority boarding.<br><br>\"\u00a0<em>Not only is this the first time our customers have been able to <strong>store their biometric information at home<\/strong>It's also the first time they've been able to use them on British Airways international flights.<\/em>\" commented David Breeze, Head of Operations Transformation at the airline.
