The Radisson Group joins Accor and Iberostar at COP27 one of the leading hotel companies to sign the Glasgow Declaration<\/strong> on climate action in tourism. The text, which will be presented at COP26 in 2021 in the Scottish city, concludes with a commitment to \"\u00a0halve emissions from tourism over the next decade and achieve net zero emissions as soon as possible before 2050<\/em>\" .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, the Glasgow Declaration now has just over 700 signatories, including tour operators and DMCs, travel agencies and OTAs such as Skyscanner and Evaneos and some sixty destinations <\/strong>represented by their tourism institutions. These include Catalonia and the Canary Islands in Spain, Scotland, Finland and Monaco, as well as Portugal, the Netherlands, Norway and Quebec, and cities such as Athens, Barcelona, Gothenburg, Helsinki and Vancouver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Radisson one of three major groups to sign up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the hotel sector, around thirty contracts have been signed, mainly by independent establishments and small groups located in sensitive tourist areas, including the three major groups mentioned above, including Radisson. \"\u00a0To support this commitment, each signatory must present a concrete climate plan <\/strong>and updated within 12 months, as demonstrated by the detailed transformation of Radisson Hotel Group into Net Zero<\/em>\" said Dirk Glaesser, Director of Sustainable Tourism Development at the World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
