SBTi determined that the Group's target was in line with a trajectory well below 2\u00b0C, as determined by the Paris Agreement signed in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-destination-sustainability\">\"Destination Sustainability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>The Group has developed a coherent approach as part of its sustainable development strategy:<strong> \"Destination Sustainability<\/strong>. This environmental approach aims to reduce CO\u2082 emissions by relying on three main pillars. These are fleet renewal, sustainable aviation fuel, and operational measures. <strong>SBTi's approval of the targets is a key element in ensuring that the Group's decarbonisation strategy is implemented.<span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span>-KLM is consistent with its scientific aims<\/strong><\/em>\" said <strong>Benjamin Smith, Group CEO <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span>-KLM<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-klm-ryanair-saf-20221205.html\/\" data-id=\"137487\">SAF : Air France-KLM and Ryanair place orders<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>Like all the companies in the <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span>-KLM, <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> is fully committed to reducing its carbon footprint. This year it created a tailor-made strategy called <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> ACT. <strong>It is based on 4 pillars (fleet renewal, unanimous adoption of sustainable aviation fuels, development of ecopilotage and intermodal transport in collaboration with trains)<\/strong>. The validation of SBTi confirms the impact of our decarbonisation strategy on the environmental transition of the aviation sector. The scientific targets and the associated CO2 emissions reduction trajectory bring clarity and at the same time represent major challenges.
