{"id":137301,"date":"2022-12-02T11:10:12","date_gmt":"2022-12-02T10:10:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=137301"},"modified":"2023-01-03T17:34:24","modified_gmt":"2023-01-03T16:34:24","slug":"mice-auvergne-rhone-aquitaine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/mice-auvergne-rhone-aquitaine","title":{"rendered":"MICE in Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes and Nouvelle-Aquitaine: greener, stronger"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the end of the year, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes regions met in Paris to promote their major MICE destinations through workshops for professionals. This was an opportunity for them to highlight <strong>current and future developments in business tourism<\/strong> of their main cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New infrastructures, new offers, but above all new environmental labels: as well as offering new venues for business meetings, several destinations have taken advantage of the past year or so to mark their involvement in<strong> reducing the environmental footprint of events<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/destinations-eco-responsables-mice-france-20220708.html\/\" data-id=\"127531\">MICE: destinations pledge their eco-responsibility<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, Biarritz Tourisme and its convention centres received certification this summer. <strong>ISO 20121<\/strong>. This green certification, which the Bordeaux Metropolitan Convention and Visitors Bureau has held since 2021, also recognises the sustainable efforts of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/congres-bordeaux-iso-20121-20220712.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bordeaux Convention and Exhibition Centre<\/a>. The operator of the city's main business tourism venues has also recently been renamed Bordeaux Events and More, or \"BEAM\", to give itself a more modern and international image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region has the declared ambition of becoming France's leading sustainable destination, other major cities are following suit, notably <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/la-rochelle-convention-bureau-20220620.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">La Rochelle Tourism and Events<\/a> which is aiming to achieve ISO 20121 certification by the end of 2023, in parallel with a process to obtain the Sustainable Innovative Destination label. At the same time, the region intends to <strong>everything you need for great green and fresh air <\/strong>for contemporary incentives and team-building activities, whether in the Arcachon Basin, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/depaysement-seminaires-landes-20211006.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Landes<\/a> or around Niort, in the Marais Poitevin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"469\" data-id=\"137323\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/marais-poitevin-2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137323\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/marais-poitevin-2.jpeg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/marais-poitevin-2-300x201-derived.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption><em>Marais poitevin \u00a9 F.ROCH-CRTNA<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"464\" data-id=\"137365\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/lyon-rhone-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137365\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/lyon-rhone-1.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/lyon-rhone-1-300x199-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption><em>The banks of the Rh\u00f4ne in Lyon \u00a9Muriel Chaulet<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Similarly, MICE destinations in the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region can pride themselves on their environmental approach, in particular <strong>Grenoble named European Green Capital 2022<\/strong>Lyon's ONLY LYON tourist office will receive ISO 20121 certification in 2022. Clermont Auvergne Tourisme's environmental policy was also recognised this year with this certification, while Saint-Etienne is due to receive it shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/valence-mice-espagne-20221212.html\/\" data-id=\"137959\">Valencia well placed for MICE in Spain<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-nouvelles-infrastructures-haut-de-gamme-pour-le-mice\">New top-of-the-range facilities for MICE<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>This CSR approach, shared by all MICE destinations, is also coupled with new infrastructures. Last September, Saint-Etienne saw the inauguration of a new venue, the Arena Saint-\u00c9tienne M\u00e9tropole, in Saint Chamond, which will help to shape the city's sporting and cultural scene, as well as its MICE offering. The NF-HQE-certified venue has a 400-person capacity for evenings and conventions, extended by a terrace overlooking the Pilat regional park. In the same vein, Lyon is to have a <strong>new XXL events venue<\/strong> - the largest outside Paris - with the LDLC Arena. Located in OL Vall\u00e9e, the area around Olympique Lyonnais' Groupama Stadium, this arena is mainly intended for basketball matches and concerts, but also for professional events, with a capacity ranging from 12,000 to 16,000 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also in the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, the city of Valence opened a brand new events complex at the start of the year, a 15-minute walk from Valence Ville station and around 15 minutes by public transport from the TGV station. Named \"Jacques Chirac\", it brings together <strong>a convention centre and exhibition centre under one roof<\/strong>A total surface area of 10,000m\u00b2. This modular venue, suitable for all types of events, comprises four halls and more than 6,900m\u00b2 of exhibition space, a 500-seat auditorium, around ten meeting rooms ranging from 45 to 140m\u00b2, two reception areas, a private garden and a space dedicated to conviviality with a 220m\u00b2 terrace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"347\" data-id=\"137361\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/royan-palais.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137361\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/royan-palais.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/royan-palais-300x149-derived.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/royan-palais-324x160-derived.jpg 324w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption><em>Royan Convention Centre<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"479\" data-id=\"137319\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/futuroscope-arena.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137319\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/futuroscope-arena.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/futuroscope-arena-300x205-derived.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/futuroscope-arena-218x150-derived.jpg 218w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><figcaption><em>Arena Futuroscope \u00a9NGE-Batiments<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>When it comes to new infrastructure, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region is not to be outdone, <strong>an extension of Futuroscope's MICE offering<\/strong>. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/futuroscope-dimension-resort-20201015.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">300 metres from the congress centre and theme park<\/a>This year saw the inauguration of the Arena Futuroscope, adding a further 6,000m<sup>2<\/sup> modular event spaces. For corporate events, the Arena offers its main hall, with a seating capacity of 5,500 and state-of-the-art technical facilities, as well as four VIP lounges ranging from 100 to 250 m<sup>2<\/sup> and three other rooms that can accommodate 80 to 170 people. Further south and on the Atlantic coast, in Royan, the Palais des Congr\u00e8s has undergone major renovation work at the initiative of the metropolis, and will reopen its doors in 2023 once it has been refurbished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, other destinations had increased their MICE offerings during the pandemic years, such as Chamb\u00e9ry Montagnes, with the renovation and expansion of its events facilities. This programme has enabled the destination to offer an exhibition centre and a multi-purpose hall on the same site, with over 13,000 m\u00b2 of space for events of between 100 and 3,500 people. A new hall has recently been added <strong>double the capacity of the exhibition centre<\/strong> of the Auvergne capital by adding 12,600 m2 of exhibition space, plus a 614-seat auditorium and 12 conference rooms. So there's plenty of room for expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-tourisme-d-affaires-le-rugby-en-premiere-ligne\">Business tourism: rugby on the front line<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As well as celebrating the 400th anniversary of the birth of Blaise Pascal next year - not as good a trial scorer as Montaigne, though... - Clermont-Ferrand can count on another communication factor to boost its appeal and support its MICE offer: its rugby club. The Marcel-Michelin stadium, which hosts ASM Clermont Auvergne, has added an extra space for hosting corporate meetings, from conferences and seminars to cocktail parties and evening events: the Club Bernard-Chevallier Presidential Lounge. As a result, the venue now offers a range of facilities, from a 10-seater private lounge to the 900m\u00b2 Espace Groupama. All of which are modular areas with top-of-the-range equipment and <strong>breathtaking views of the grounds<\/strong>. Guided tours of the stadium and an \"ASM Experience\" emotion trail are also available to complete the rugby experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/bayonne-espace-mendia.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-137305\" width=\"211\" height=\"135\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/bayonne-espace-mendia.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/bayonne-espace-mendia-300x192-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 211px) 100vw, 211px\" \/><figcaption><em>Espace Mendia at the Jean-Dauger stadium in Bayonne.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A number of cities in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, home to the sport of rugby par excellence, are also playing on their strengths.<strong> the \"rugby and business tourism\" power couple<\/strong>This is particularly important in the run-up to the next World Cup in France in 2023. In Bayonne, the Jean-Dauger sports park, home to Aviron Bayonnais, has been redesigned with this in mind. Recently refurbished, it includes three new 160 m<sup>2<\/sup> 450 m away<sup>2<\/sup> and boxes for general meetings, business lunches and gala evenings. Similarly, in Agen, the Armandie stadium has recently been renovated and now boasts a range of event spaces of up to 800 m\u00b2. In Brive, the region's CAB Corr\u00e8ze Limousin stadium also offers modular event facilities. As for the water cities in the Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, their Trojan horse for hosting events is more focused on their racecourses, such as Saint-Galmier, near Saint-Etienne, or Vichy, where the Vichy-Bellerive racecourse has been using its facilities to host evenings and meetings since this year.<\/p>\n<\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Auvergne-Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes
