After <strong>Trenitalia<\/strong>the first AVE - Renfe's high-speed train - from the French border. <strong>Barcelona<\/strong> arrived at <strong>Lyon<\/strong> on the occasion of a\u00a0<em>dry run<\/em>\" These tests, without passengers, were carried out in preparation for the Spanish national airline's imminent arrival on the French network. With a <strong>launch before the summer on the Barcelona-Lyon and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/madrid-azca-castellana-20171204.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Madrid<\/a>&#8211;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/interview-tissot-office-tourisme-marseille-20190709.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marseille<\/a><\/strong>. Renfe obtained its Security Certificates on 22 December last, and the new operator has already stated that it has \"\u00a0<em>of the first qualified drivers<\/em>\u00a0\"and a cabin crew in training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/attrait-transport-ferroviaire-france-20211229.html\/\" data-id=\"117913\">The French transport regulator confirms the attractiveness of the French rail system<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-12-circulations-hebdomadaires-pour-commencer\">12 weekly services to start with<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Once driver training has been completed in mid-April, Renfe will announce the precise date on which commercial operations will begin. The transport plan will begin with <strong>six trains a week<\/strong> on alternate days on each line, between Madrid and Marseille and from Barcelona to Lyon. Depending on the route, this will include stops at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/valence-mice-espagne-20221212.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Valencia <\/a>TGV, N\u00eemes, Montpellier, Narbonne and Perpignan in France, and Figueres Vilafant (Figueras) and Girona (G\u00e9rone) in Spain. The service will then be expanded to <strong>two daily services<\/strong> in each direction, i.e. 28 trains a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the carrier's operational centre will be based in Barcelona, the opening of a <strong>commercial branch in France<\/strong> has been announced to ensure that the trains are as full as possible. This is already shaping up to be a challenge if the operation is to be profitable. For the moment, no information has been provided on the <strong>price list <\/strong>and <strong>specific services <\/strong>which will be offered to leisure and business customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/table-ronde-trainline-concurrence-20220914.html\/\" data-id=\"130897\">Trainline round table: opening up the railways to competition in questions and figures<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Paris-Lyon-Barcelona trains hoped for summer 2024<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In its press release, Renfe scratches at the French bureaucracy, because while the Safety Certificate is obtained in Spain for the entire high-speed network, it is only valid in France on dedicated lines, currently Perpignan-Lyon and Perpignan-Marseille. \"\u00a0<em>We are continuing to work towards obtaining the Safety Certificate to operate [lines] throughout France.<\/em>\" says the Spanish company. With<strong>horizon 2024 <\/strong>service <strong>Paris-Lyon-Barcelona <\/strong>and, more recently, the SNCF, the French national railway company. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/trenitalia-monte-puissance-lyon-20220310.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trenitalia <\/a><\/strong>- between Paris and the capital of Gaul. Following the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/arret-cooperation-renfe-sncf-20220216.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>break <\/strong>in autumn 2022 of the<strong>SNCF-Renfe agreement<\/strong><\/a> within Ellipsos, the former, which was the cause of the divorce, has also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-test-tgv-paris-barcelone-20221213.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">launched on its own in mid-December on the Paris-Barcelona route<\/a> currently operating two daily services (3 are planned for the summer season). The SNCF having already become a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-ouigo-espagne-20200923.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">an aggressive competitor to Renfe<\/a> with its low-cost Ouigo Spain service on the Madrid-Barcelona route...<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/le-train-grande-vitesse-grand-ouest-20230125.html\/\" data-id=\"141211\">Le Train orders 10 high-speed trains for the Grand Ouest region<\/a><\/p><\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Having begun its empty running trials on French rail on Monday, Renfe plans to start its Barcelona-Lyon and Madrid-Marseille routes before the summer holidays.
