This is a world first. A Amsterdam<\/a>Cycling has always been an integral part of everyday life.<\/strong> of the population. According to municipal statistics, almost 36% use bicycles for their journeys, representing some 665,000 daily journeys<\/strong>. Including the businessmen who can regularly be seen cycling to their meetings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By comparison, in 2019, the proportion of daily journeys made by bicycle in Paris reached 5%, according to the European Cyclists' Federation ECF. Even though, according to figures from Paris City Hall, the number of journeys made by bike jumped by 60% between 2019 and 2020. And it has remained stable since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cycling, a way of life for everyone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And yet Amsterdam is the ideal city for cycling, the congestion of public space caused by this means of transport has become a serious problem<\/strong>. So the city is desperate to find solutions. Its latest bold creation : a gigantic cycle park in the redeveloped area around Amsterdam Central Station<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four years of work and \u20ac60 million of investment for 7,000 bicycle spaces, developed... underwater.
