A facility that allows <strong>avoid having to buy your ticket from an ATM first<\/strong>. Passengers can then catch their train straight away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Called OVpay, the card payment system is one of the new forms of payment that public transport companies and rail services are introducing in collaboration with banks.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>we want to give travellers even more choice, so that they can travel even more easily by public transport<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Travelling with a debit or credit card is now possible in most of the Netherlands. For the time being, this is limited to NS and the trains run by rail competitors Obuzz and Arriva.<strong>The new check-in and check-out system should be available on all public transport systems by the end of March.<\/strong> Using and paying for a ticket is similar to paying for contactless purchases. According to Tjalling Smit, member of the NS Board of Directors, \"\u00a0<em>we want to give travellers even more choice, so that they can travel even more easily by public transport<\/em>. \"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The price of a trip with a debit or credit card refers to the price of a trip with the OV chip card. <\/strong>Only for a full fare in second class. This is available to public transport users in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cost of a completed trip is calculated each day and appears the following day on the payment statement from the bank or credit card provider. <strong>Travellers can find their billing by linking their debit card to \"Mijn NS\".<\/strong>Dutch Railways website,<strong> or by entering a code at ovpay.nl\/reisoverzicht<\/strong>. This is visible in the payment overview under the acronym NLOV.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since 31 January, passengers on Dutch Railways NS trains have been able to pay for
