The Lufthansa Group further expands the scope for more sustainable travel with the launch of a green fare<\/strong>. The group claims to be the first airline in the world to offer a new fare that includes more climate-friendly flights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 15th February<\/strong>This means that passengers can book a Green Fare on the Group's booking sites.<\/strong> This Green Fare already includes compensation for CO\u2082 emissions linked to flying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do so, 20 % of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) are used and 80 % of emissions are offset by high-quality climate protection projects<\/strong>. These prices are available on Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Swiss, Brussels Airlines, Edelweiss, Eurowings Discover <\/strong>and Air Dolomiti<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additional miles and free rebooking for Green Fares<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To be more attractive to passengers, green fares offer additional status miles and a free rebooking option<\/strong>. Green Fares are valid<\/strong> in all the group's travel classes (economy and business) over 730,000 flights a year within Europe and to Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia<\/strong>. This fare formula seems to have met with some success during a test period on flights to and from Scandinavia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
