In the mid-1970s, Yamato built its reputation in this way, around the<strong> Takkyubin concept<\/strong>. Namely parcel delivery across the country, made possible by vast networks of shops open at all hours, notably 7-Eleven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Widely deployed in Japan, baggage delivery and storage began to spread to Europe and the rest of the world in the middle of the last decade.<strong> The rise of Airbnb is not one of them. <strong>moreover<\/strong><\/strong> <strong>not totally foreign<\/strong>. \"\u00a0<em>This new way of travelling has created new needs<\/em>\" Matthieu Ballester, founder of Nannybag, a start-up specialising in luggage storage, points out. Among other things, you need to find an easily accessible place to store your suitcases before you get to your flat or after you leave, while you wait for your flight home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/nannybag-safe-bag-aeroports-20240412.html\/\" data-id=\"172131\">Nannybag and Safe Bag team up to look after passengers' luggage at airports<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>But the benefits of this type of service are not confined to short-stay tourists, as Nannybag explains.<strong> between 15 and 20% of business customers<\/strong>. Through its partnerships with retail chains such as Carrefour, Casino and Franprix, and with brands in the Accor and Louvre Hotels groups, the start-up has gradually built up a network of \"Nannies\". In other words, they are all places that lend their services via the Nannybag app or website to check in suitcases - secured by a numbered seal - for \u20ac6 per 24 hours per item of luggage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For business travellers, this solution is useful in a number of different situations: dropping off baggage near the departure station to <strong>no need to return to the hotel <\/strong>at the end of the day, store your suitcase and business equipment between two meetings or, in bleisure mode, have your hands free to enjoy a few hours of sightseeing before your flight home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like Nannybag, other start-ups such as Eelway in France, Bagbnb in Rome (now Radical Storage), LuggageHero in Denmark and Stasher in the UK have begun to flourish. <strong>in 2016-2017 <\/strong>by building on this idea. By January 2020, Luggage Hero was offering its services in more than 35 major European and North American cities. For its part, Nannybag had experienced \"\u00a0<em>very strong growth until the end of 2019, both in European capitals and in North America<\/em>\" according to the company's founder. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/startup-bagages-20180726.html\/\" data-id=\"76709\">Start-ups tackling the baggage problem<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>In February 2020, the start-up announced that it had raised \u20ac2 million from two investors, Fa Di\u00e8se and Exon Capital, and several business angels. Unfortunately, the pandemic turned all expansion plans on their head. <strong>No passengers, so no luggage to carry or check. <\/strong>Not all of them - apart from Eelway - died, but all were affected. During the crisis, Stasher put its business on hold to concentrate on developing another of its offerings, Treepoints.green, which focuses on carbon offsetting. In France, after taking over Eelway's activities, Pick Up, a subsidiary of the La Poste group, acquired 49% of Nannybag's capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a network of 13,000 relay points in France and a total of 70,000 worldwide, <strong>Pick Up now supports the start-up's expansion<\/strong>. \"\u00a0<em>For them, the idea is to develop new services around their relay points, to build customer loyalty.<\/em>\" explains Matthieu Ballester. However, registering all these relay points as baggage drop-off points is not automatic. \"\u00a0<em>Negotiations must be conducted on a country-by-country basis, depending on the way the country operates.<\/em>continues the founder of Nannybag. <em>The main lever for acquiring \"nannies\" is organised around students who are paid every time they register a new business or hotel.<\/em>\" . <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/sncf-retour-consignes-bagages-20230922.html\/\" data-id=\"157567\">SNCF reinstalls luggage lockers... outside stations!<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>To achieve this and accelerate its growth, Nannybag has just announced the recruitment of 50 business developers, in parallel with its expansion into 20 new countries. \"\u00a0<em>After a better year in 2022 than we had in 2019, we are strongly resuming our expansion strategy in 2023, in the major European cities, but also in the United States and on the American continent, or even in Bangkok, in Oceania...<\/em>\" says Matthieu Ballester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But Nannybag is also looking further afield. With La Poste Group now including logistics firm DPD, the start-up will be drawing on potential synergies to launch a new service at the beginning of the summer: <strong>sending luggage<\/strong> in the same country or abroad. \"\u00a0<em>If you are travelling from Paris to New York, you can leave your suitcase with a Nanny in Paris and collect it from another Nanny or from your hotel on arrival.<\/em>\" says the start-up's founder. The underlying idea is to compete with the prices offered by airlines, particularly low-cost airlines, for luggage transport. This is what Nannybag and LuggageHero offer all travellers, <strong>Deliverbag applies it to group tourism, both leisure and business<\/strong>. Launched in 2017 in Bordeaux, this company began to develop its offering in the South-West before expanding its horizons to other major French cities from 2021. It is developing at a slower pace than its acolytes, thanks to a radically different model for connecting travellers and baggage repositories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deliverbag's offer is based on completely different logistics, with the start-up putting in place teams to store, transport and deliver luggage.<strong> Three services to ensure the smooth running of an event. <\/strong>For example, to mark the 75th anniversary of a major company, it took over the Stade de France for a weekend. To enable its 5,000 employees to make the most of the day and evening, Deliverbag organised a left-luggage office at the stadium to take charge of all the luggage. Once all the suitcases had been catalogued and labelled, they were taken to 34 hotels,<strong> participants who found them in their rooms<\/strong>. The same was true of an agreement at the Pierre Beaudis conference centre in Toulouse, where 900 items of luggage were taken care of on arrival, and then delivered to and put in rooms in around fifteen hotels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With three-quarters of its business generated by business groups - the other part of its business being focused on tour operators - Deliverbag now has a number of partnerships with top-of-the-range hotels and event venues, as well as agencies and seminar organisers. \"\u00a0<em><strong>Groups can arrive at their hotel early and go about their business.<\/strong>Luggage is put in the room when it is available. At the end of the event, we can collect the luggage once the room has been returned, then take some to the station and others to the airport, where the participants will find it before their departure. We have also collected luggage at Bordeaux airport and delivered it to the InterContinental, then reassembled it a few days later at another hotel in Paris.<\/em>explains Stanley Casteran, Deliverbag's Managing Director. <em>We tailor our services to the customer's needs, whether it's for consignment, porterage or transfer.<\/em>\"\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While its offering is currently focused on France, Deliverbag is not ruling out extending its services to Belgium and Spain in the longer term. In the meantime, the start-up will be launching<strong> a new version of its website <\/strong>to manage the service from A to Z, including monitoring and
