But they will also have an impact on business travel. The new agreement signed at the beginning of May 2023 offers travellers <strong>additional itinerary options by allowing departure or arrival from both Abu Dhabi and Dubai.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/abu-dhabi-nouveau-terminal-20230831.html\/\" data-id=\"155637\">Abu Dhabi: the inauguration of the new Terminal A takes shape<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-grande-flexibilite-d-utilisation\">Great flexibility of use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The new agreement also offers passengers planning to travel between the two cities <strong>the flexibility of a single ticket for their entire journey<\/strong>. Connections to other UAE cities can be made on both Emirates and Etihad in a multi-city itinerary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement puts to rest the disputes that have often pitted the two airlines against each other. For Tim Clark, Chairman of Emirates Airlines, \"\u00a0<em>This new agreement provides a solid basis for developing further opportunities between the two airlines. It is an example of our commitment to the UAE's vision of continued economic diversification.<\/em>\" .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, said: \"\u00a0<em>With two world-class airlines supporting tourism in the United Arab Emirates, <strong>our interline agreement will enable our customers to discover the best of Abu Dhabi and Dubai<\/strong> <strong>with a single ticket<\/strong>and promises an exceptional flying experience, whether they fly with Etihad Airways or Emirates.<\/em>\" .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/dubai-premier-aeroport-du-golfe-20220301.html\/\" data-id=\"121819\">Dubai remains the Gulf's leading airport for passenger traffic<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Schengen-style visa in the offing for the Gulf Cooperation Council<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement between Emirates and Etihad has come at just the right time. The flexibility offered to travellers entering and leaving the UAE with either airline is set to increase. In fact, there is talk of launching in the very near future a <strong>visa <\/strong>valid for all <strong>Gulf Cooperation Council <\/strong>(CCG). This board includes the<strong>Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the U.A.E., Kuwait, Oman and Qatar<\/strong>. The visa would be modelled on that of countries in the Schengen area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement was made at the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai. Fahd Hamidaddin, Director General of the Saudi Arabian Tourism Authority, believes that future travellers will be more inclined to visit several countries in the same region with such a system. For Abdullah al-Saleh, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Economy, the entire Gulf region would benefit from the adoption of common regulations, policies and procedures. Such a step forward would facilitate the growth of the economy and tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The launch of this visa could be rapid and would apply to citizens of <strong>35 countries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/vietnam-validite-visas-20230324.html\/\" data-id=\"145593\">Vietnam to extend the validity of its visas<\/a><\/p><\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Emirates and Etihad have signed an interline agreement offering greater flexibility for travel within the United Arab Emirates. The biggest advantage is arriving in Dubai and departing from Abu Dhabi, or vice versa.
