It was still to be decided who would conclude the sale with the <strong>Lufthansa Group<\/strong>. At the end of 2021, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/activite-paiement-innovation-wagner-airplus-20211117.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>AirPlus CEO Oliver Wagner<\/strong> told Voyages d'Affaires<\/a> : \" <em>I am certain and fully confident that Carsten Spohr and the entire Lufthansa management will examine the options carefully and find the best possible solution. <\/em>And Oliver Wagner assures us: <em>For AirPlus, it is important to<strong>having a supportive landlord<\/strong> and it always has been. It is, and I'm sure always will be, regardless of who owns it.<\/em> \".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>AirPlus will be in a better position to realise its potential than within the Lufthansa group<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Oliver Wagner's wishes have been fulfilled, according to the official announcement on <strong>21 June<\/strong>. For the management of <strong>Lufthansa<\/strong>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/airplus-voyage-affaires-allemand-20240214.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AirPlus <\/a>should not only benefit from a solid partner, but also from a more similar business area than the airline group. \" <em>We are delighted to have found a <strong>A solid new owner for AirPlus<\/strong>from <strong>financial sector<\/strong><\/em> \"says Remco Steenbergen, CFO of the Lufthansa Group. He continued: \" <em>SEB Kort brings a wealth of experience in the field of payments and has the full support of AirPlus management.<\/em> \"and even believes that<strong>AirPlus<\/strong> \" <em>will be in a better position to realise its potential than in the <strong>Lufthansa Group<\/strong><\/em> \".<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/resultat-record-lufthansa-group-20230803.html\/\" data-id=\"153659\">Record second-quarter results for the Lufthansa Group<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>We have been following AirPlus for many years<\/p><cite>Johan Torgeby, Chairman and CEO of the Group<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>For its part, the management of the SEB Group also asserts that it has identified \"\u00a0<em>a convincing strategic fit<\/em>\" as Johan Torgeby, Chairman and CEO of the Swedish group, explains: \"\u00a0<em>We have been following AirPlus for many years<\/em>\" .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Entrusting the future of AirPlus to a specialist in the field was therefore one of the motivations of the German group. But it was also, and above all, seeking to refocus on its core business: air travel.
