Its aircraft, emblazoned with an emblem reminiscent of traditional gingham fabrics, are becoming increasingly popular in France, particularly on cross-country routes. But also more and more in Orly<\/strong>. 11 years after arriving in France, the Catalan Volotea posts a remarkable performance<\/strong>. It is the number one airline in France in terms of number of routes. With 61 domestic routes compared with 58 for Air France.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, Volotea<\/strong>and has become a major player in domestic air transport, still lags far behind its competitors in terms of market share<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

According to a recent DGAC report on the impact of low-cost airlines in France, Volotea carried 4.2 million passengers<\/strong>for all traffic combined (domestic and international). Between 2019 and 2022, this traffic will certainly have jumped by 33%. But it represents only 7% of the total number of passengers travelling on low-cost airlines.<\/strong> (60.2 million for all traffic combined in 2022). However, this market share will rise to 21.6% on domestic routes<\/strong> served by a low-cost carrier. But Volotea is still a long way fromeasyJet<\/strong>. The latter represents 55% in low-cost passenger traffic on domestic flights<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Domestic traffic accounts for the bulk of Volotea's traffic. In 2022, according to the DGAC report, it will reach 48% of the total number of its passengers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

France is therefore asserting itself as the Volotea's largest market with eight bases<\/strong><\/a>. These include Nantes, Bordeaux, Strasbourg, Toulouse, Marseille, Lyon, Lille and Lourdes. In total, Volotea serves 21 airports in France. A new base is due to open soon in Corsica<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

France generates almost 60 % of all the Spanish company's business.<\/strong>. Between now and the end of the year, the company is planning a historic offer of almost 6.5 million seats<\/strong> for 246 routes throughout Europe. Half of which have no real competition.<\/p>\n\n\n
