{"id":155301,"date":"2023-08-27T23:40:48","date_gmt":"2023-08-27T21:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=155301"},"modified":"2025-02-21T12:14:41","modified_gmt":"2025-02-21T11:14:41","slug":"trains-brussels-amsterdam","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/trains-brussels-amsterdam","title":{"rendered":"More Brussels-Amsterdam trains with NS and SNCB"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Could this be competition for the Eurostar on the Brussels-Amsterdam route? <strong>NS and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/belgique-neuf-jours-greve-rails-20250221.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SNCB<\/a><\/strong> have stated their intention to improve their rail services on this strategic Benelux route. The two national companies want to boost their capacity on the route <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/arriva-pays-bas-belgique-france-20230609.html\/\">Belgium\/Netherlands<\/a>. <strong>32 trains will run daily<\/strong> up to 200 km\/h from <strong>2025<\/strong> on <strong>Brussels-Antwerp-Amsterdam<\/strong>. But also on a route linking <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/rotterdam-port-dattache-archi-design-20161004.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rotterdam<\/a> to Brussels via Breda. To Brussels-Amsterdam,<strong> the journey will be 45 minutes shorter than at present<\/strong>. <strong>NS will be using the new Intercity train (ICNG) with its maximum speed of 200 km\/hour.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>This reduction in journey time is made possible not only by faster trains. But also by fewer intermediate stops and a new departure station in the Netherlands. The one in<strong>Amsterdam Zuid, closer to the high-speed line than Amsterdam Centraal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>New trains for the Amsterdam Zuid - Brussels Zuid-Midi route will offer greater comfort<strong> with a capacity for 413 passengers<\/strong>. Travellers from Utrecht or The Hague, for example, will also benefit from easier connections.<\/p>\n<p>On Rotterdam Centraal-Brussels Midi, NS and SNCB will also offer 16 daily trains. All these new NS\/SNCB lines will be marketed under the Intercity name.<\/p>\n<p>With the arrival of these Intercity trains and the current Eurostar (ex-Thalys) trains, <strong>47 trains a day should be running between the Netherlands and Brussels<\/strong> by 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/billet-de-train-regional-france-20230907.html\/\" data-id=\"156521\">A possible \"Francebillet\" based on the Deutschlandticket model for trains in 2024<\/a><\/p><\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dutch rail carrier NS and its Belgian counterpart SNCB want to double the number of Intercity trains between the Netherlands and Brussels, from 16 to 32 per
