Based on the observation that <strong>more than one manager in two (52%) spends more than 100 euros a month on business expense advances<\/strong> - i.e. 3 points more than in 2022 - Mooncard questions the precariousness that...<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vapo-content\" style=\"display:none\">\n<p>Business travellers, and executives in general, are all too familiar with this corporate mantra. Based on the observation that <strong>more than one manager in two (52%) spends more than 100 euros a month on business expense advances<\/strong> - 3 points higher than in 2022 - Mooncard draws attention to the precariousness that such a practice can engender. According to the 2023 barometer, 17% of executives have already overdrawn their bank account because of an expense account. This figure is also up on the previous barometer (+3 points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"393\" src=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/mooncard.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-157795\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/mooncard.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/mooncard-300x168-derived.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>Every company needs to get to grips with this issue and carry out its own internal audit: how many employees are having problems with their expense accounts?<\/p><cite>Sylvain Montoro, Chief Financial Officer of Mooncard<\/cite><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>\"<em>The results of our survey should be a wake-up call to both finance and human resources departments.<\/em>\"says Sylvain Montoro, Mooncard's Chief Financial Officer. \"<em>Faced with the rapid rise in catering, travel and accommodation costs, executives are having to change their behaviour to anticipate their monthly outgoings. Every company needs to get to grips with this issue and carry out its own internal audit: how many employees are having problems with their expense accounts? Do they still have the means to cover their business expenses to achieve their objectives? It's a strategic issue<\/em>\"underlines Sylvain Montoro. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The issue is all the more strategic in that the barometer published by Mooncard points to a collateral effect of these difficulties: the temptation of the <strong>fraud<\/strong>. According to this 2023 barometer, a quarter of those surveyed (23%) confessed to having already passed on personal expenses as expense claims. This proportion is all the more worrying given that the figure is still rising. <strong>sharp increase <\/strong>compared with 2022 (+10 points). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/etude-mooncard-note-de-frais-20221005.html\/\" data-id=\"133111\">Mooncard study: when expense accounts undermine executives' finances<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-palmares-des-depenses-et-des-augmentations\">The top list of expenses... and increases<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>According to this year's <strong>Mooncard 2023 barometer<\/strong>the <strong>restoration <\/strong>remains the most common reason for expense claims. It concerned 89% of the executives questioned (+2 points). Food expenses are slightly ahead of <strong>transport <\/strong>(80%). This is followed by<strong>hotels<\/strong> (62%) and the<strong>petrol <\/strong>(58%). Fuel is also one of the items of expenditure that has risen most sharply, in first place ex aequo with catering (61% of those surveyed).
