Here's a \"remake\" that British skies could have done without: a wave of sick leave, which has forced the airport of Gatwick <\/strong>to cap its operations. The aim is to \"avoid delays and last-minute cancellations for passengers\". Air traffic control is understaffed, with 30% of staff \"unavailable for various medical reasons, including Covid\".<\/strong>said the airport management. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

London Gatwisk has therefore decided to reduce its operations to 800 flights a day<\/strong>for both departures and arrivals. The measure is due to remain in force until 1 October. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the period in question, the busiest day - 29 October - saw 865 aircraft movements<\/strong>. According to the schedule provided by airport management, these six days of restrictions should result in 164 flight cancellations<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
