During the summer, the carrier flirted with <strong>passenger traffic close to 2019 levels<\/strong>before Covid. \"\u00a0<em>Traffic levels were equivalent to 95% of what they were before the health crisis. On average <strong>137,000 passengers a day<\/strong><\/em>\" confirmed Henri Hourcade. A particular source of satisfaction was the fluidity of passenger movements. \"\u00a0<em>We were able to learn from the dysfunctions of 2022<\/em>\" added Henri Hourcade during his presentation at IFTM Top Resa.<\/p>\r\n<p>The carrier, in partnership with <strong>ADP <\/strong>and the various institutions involved at both Roissy and Orly had prepared well for the summer of 2023. The situation remained under control, with smooth border controls, security checks, baggage delivery and connections.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\">\r\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/paris-2024-adp-paf-20230404.html\/\" data-id=\"146099\">Paris 2024: ADP and the PAF unleash the stopwatch<\/a><\/p>\r\n<\/aside>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-lente-reprise-du-voyage-d-affaires-affecte-encore-l-offre-en-europe\">The slow recovery in business travel is still affecting supply in Europe<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The other segment suffering from a fall in traffic is domestic. Air France must in fact comply with the French government's demands to <strong>reduce domestic air services in favour of rail<\/strong>. \"\u00a0<em>We're concentrating on the shuttle from <strong>Orly <\/strong>to <strong>Marseille, Nice and Toulouse <\/strong>as well as on the transverse lines supplying <strong>our regional hub in Lyon<\/strong>. This network remains <strong>important for business traffic<\/strong><\/em>\" says the Managing Director France. However, the company is keen to <strong>expand its intermodal services with the SNCF via Roissy TGV station<\/strong>. \"\u00a0<em>We'd like to do more, but we're limited by the station's capacity. <em>On the other hand<\/em>, <\/em><em style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">we already offer an end-to-end digital recording solution on <strong>Brussels, Lille and Strasbourg<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">\" says Henri Hourcade. <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">Before Covid, intermodality at CDG generated some 150,000 passengers\/year<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">. <\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">The Managing Director for France is convinced that by 2024, intermodality will have returned to, or even exceeded, this figure.<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"> Yet it is business traffic that continues to generate uncertainty<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">. The latter continues to be a weak link in the recovery. Although it is making progress again, according to Henri Hourcade, <\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">it remains much more affected than leisure traffic. <\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">Particularly when you compare his performances to 2019. \"\u00a0<em>We can talk about stabilisation, but we won't see a return to pre-Covid levels for another year or two.<\/em>\" says Henri Hourcade. <\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">\"\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">Which is not to say that our business product doesn't work. Quite the contrary, <strong>business class achieves record occupancy rates<\/strong>. But it's about <strong>new customer behaviour<\/strong><\/em><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">\" he adds.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">The relative weakness of the business market partly affects services to Europe<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\">. \"\u00a0<\/span><strong style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>We have completely overhauled our strategy, adopting a more flexible approach<\/em><\/strong><span style=\"font-size: revert;color: initial\"><em>. In Europe, we are no longer content simply to offer a year-round service to a destination because of the flow of business. We are increasing the number of seasonal routes. For example, this summer we served up to 8 destinations in Greece. It would have been impossible to conceive of such an offer a few years ago! This winter, we will be serving Northern Europe with flights to Kittil\u00e4, Rovaniemi and Troms\u00f8.<\/em>\" says Henri Hourcade.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p>\r\n\r\n<\/p>\r\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\r\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Air France-KLM prepares to take a stake in Scandinavian SAS<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The Group <strong>Air France-KLM<\/strong>Castlelake, L.P. and Lind Invest ApS have been selected as the winning candidate in the funding solicitation process launched by <strong>SAS<\/strong>. Benjamin Smith, Chief Executive Officer of the Air France-KLM Group, said: \" <em>Le <strong>Air France-KLM Group <\/strong>intends to establish <strong>strong business links <\/strong>with the company. Thanks to its <strong>historical roots in Scandinavia <\/strong>and its strong brand, SAS offers considerable potential for Air France-KLM. This cooperation would enable Air France-KLM to strengthen its presence in the Nordic countries and improve connectivity in this region for the benefit of Scandinavian and European travellers. <\/em>\"<\/p>\r\n<p>The Consortium's investment proposal remains to be finalised and is subject to certain conditions precedent and regulatory approvals, including approval by the European Commission, the U.S. court overseeing the Chapter 11 reorganisation and, in the case of SAS AB, the Swedish court. In the event of final approval, Air France-KLM's investment would represent a total of <strong>144.5 million US dollars<\/strong>. Air France-KLM would then hold a <strong>minority interest of up to 19.9 %<\/strong> in the share capital of SAS AB.<\/p>\r\n<p>At the same time as the transaction, and in particular a <strong>exit from SAS AB <\/strong>from <strong>Star Alliance<\/strong>Air France-KLM intends to establish commercial cooperation between its airlines and SAS AB.<\/p>\r\n<\/aside>\r\n<p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Air France presented its winter offer during IFTM Top R\u00e9sa, the trade fair for tourism professionals.
