Since the launch of their strategic partnership in October 2019, Swiss and Swiss Federal Railways (SBB)<\/strong><\/a> are constantly expanding their joint services and products. The two carriers are extending the Air Rail offer via the airport of Geneva<\/strong>. This extension offers Swiss passengers travelling to or from Lausanne, Fribourg or Bern stations the choice of connecting via Zurich airport or via Geneva airport<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until now, only Geneva Central Station has been linked to the Air Rail network via Zurich. The integration of Geneva airport as an air\/rail transfer station is immediate<\/strong> and can be booked on the Swiss website<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swiss tickets now carry the SBB QR code<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To improve the control of boarding passes, theSwiss tickets will now carry the SBB QR code<\/strong>. The two transport companies are thus taking a further step towards integrating their IT environments. The medium-term objective is to achieve greater transparency on passenger embarkation and disembarkation points.<\/strong>. The aim is to provide precise information on alternative travel options, for example in the event of malfunctions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swiss Air Rail offer covers the two airport stations of Geneva and Zurich as well as 11 destinations.<\/strong>. Geneva-Cornavin, Fribourg, Bern, Interlaken, Lausanne, Lucerne, Lugano, Bellinzona and Basel in Switzerland, as well as Munich in Germany and Bregenz in Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Better access to the Swiss Travel Pass on swiss.com<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Swiss and SBB have set themselves the goal of offering travellers a range of travel options <\/strong>as varied as possible<\/strong>. In this respect, the airline is also improving access to the Swiss Travel Pass from SBB<\/strong> via its website and app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Swiss Travel Pass allows foreign travellers to travel without restriction for 3, 4, 6, 8 or 15 days with a single ticket. By the beginning of 2024 at the latest, standard tickets for public transport in Switzerland will also be available on Swiss distribution channels.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What's more, Geneva airport<\/strong> indicates that the railway line between the airport and Geneva Cornavin station will be interrupted due to SBB works linked to the installation of an underpass, from Friday 27 October at 21:00 to Monday 30 October at 04:50. And from Saturday 11 November at 12 noon to Sunday 12 November 2023 at 12 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
