While the<strong>Boston Logan International Airport<\/strong> is celebrating its <strong>hundredth anniversary<\/strong>the American hub has just been given a new, modernised showcase. <strong>Massport<\/strong>A few days ago, the Massachusetts airport authority, which has been in charge of the airport since 1956, celebrated the completion of work on the airport. <strong>modernisation<\/strong> and<strong>extension<\/strong> from <strong>Terminal E<\/strong>. The international terminal now totals <strong>16 boarding gates<\/strong>compared with 12 when it was inaugurated in 1974. The project, which was completed in mid-October, included the construction of around <strong>36 000 m\u00b2 <\/strong>infrastructure, including new TSA security checkpoints. Seven new security lines have been installed, equipped with ACT (Analogic Computed Tomography) devices. These produce 360-degree 3D images, sparing travellers the need to remove their laptops and other electronic devices from their baggage during screening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/lax-50-millions-aeroport-20220712.html\/\" data-id=\"127691\">LAX: 50 million to relieve airport congestion<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>Those in charge of the project refer to \"improvements needed to meet increased operational requirements and create an improved and more efficient travel experience for passengers\". Among the new features is a room that replicates an aircraft cabin, designed to help passengers with pre-flight anxiety. Another original initiative is a sensory room, with several interactive stations focusing on balance, light therapy and improving cognitive functions and memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the <strong>Sustainable aspect<\/strong>The project promises to be \"at least 20 %\" more energy efficient than the Massachusetts energy code. With a modernised heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system, <strong>Boston Logan<\/strong> is also aiming for LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/jetblue-boston-amsterdam-paris-20230922.html\/\" data-id=\"157547\">JetBlue takes off between Boston and Amsterdam<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>Logan International Airport is a key economic driver for our state, <\/em>said Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey.<em>. \"The fantastic improvements to Terminal E will give it a boost and help enhance our image on the world stage. We are thrilled with the completion of this next phase at Logan, and are grateful to Massport, the Biden Administration and our Congressional delegation for their leadership and partnership on this critical project.<\/em>\" .
