{"id":161083,"date":"2023-10-27T03:36:55","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T01:36:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/?p=161083"},"modified":"2024-01-24T14:04:32","modified_gmt":"2024-01-24T13:04:32","slug":"air-france-klm-winter-2023-2024","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-klm-winter-2023-2024","title":{"rendered":"167 destinations for Air France in the 2023\/2024 winter season"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After a good summer season, particularly in terms of passenger numbers on long-haul routes, <strong><span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> <\/strong>continues to reopen and expand its global network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the 2023-2024 winter season, <strong>the airline will serve 167 destinations, including 84 long-haul destinations and 83 short- and medium-haul destinations<\/strong>. The national carrier will thus return to a level of activity close to that of winter 2019. i.e. <strong>98% in long-haul seat-kilometre capacity<\/strong> <strong>compared with the same period in 2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-forte-presence-sur-l-amerique-du-nord\">Strong presence in North America<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The winter of 2023-2024 will be characterised by<strong> 20% increase in capacity in North America compared with 2019<\/strong>. The airline is continuing its offensive on the<strong>North Atlantic<\/strong>the most dynamic long-haul segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> for the period up to <strong>212 flights a week to 20 destinations<\/strong> in the United States, Canada and Mexico. <strong>From 30 October 2023, <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> will inaugurate a link between Raleigh and Durham (North Carolina)<\/strong> with 3 flights a week operated by Boeing 787-9. Raleigh Durham will be the 14th destination for<span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> in the United States this winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-route-phoenix-20240124.html\/\" data-id=\"166841\">Air France en route to Phoenix: a first<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>At the same time, the company will be extending its winter service to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-ottawa-20230203.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Ottawa (Canada), <\/strong>inaugurated last June<\/a>. Services to<strong> Dallas, Vancouver, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/boston-lavenir-dune-tradition-20160701.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boston <\/a>and Montreal will be strengthened<\/strong>with additional frequencies or the use of higher-capacity equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, a nod to <strong>90 years of<span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span><\/strong>From 29 October 2023, the airline will renumber its flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle and New York JFK. Flights AF015 and AF022 will become <strong>AF001 and AF002, legendary flight numbers reserved for Concorde until 2003<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-90-ans-20230929.html\/\" data-id=\"158115\">Air France: the glamour of 90 years of elegance<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>On the<strong>Latin America<\/strong>, <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> will strengthen its offer. Flights by Airbus A350-900 between CDG and <strong>San Jose <\/strong>at <strong>Costa Rica <\/strong>will become daily. Service to <strong>Bogota <\/strong>(Colombia) will also be operated by Airbus A350-900, increasing capacity on this route. On the <strong>Caribbean<\/strong>, <span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> will inaugurate on 1 December 2023 a <strong>new link between Pointe-\u00e0-Pitre (Guadeloupe) and Saint-Martin<\/strong>The new route will be operated once a week by Airbus A320. This new route will bring to 7 the number of destinations served by the <strong>Caribbean Regional Network<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-le-retour-de-l-asie\">The return of Asia<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><span class=\"il\">Air<\/span> <span class=\"il\">France<\/span> will significantly increase its seat capacity on the<strong>Asia<\/strong>a rise stimulated by the return of demand to the market. <strong>China <\/strong>and the <strong>Japan<\/strong>. The company will therefore be offering <strong>60% more seats<\/strong> compared with winter 2022-2023. <strong>The airline will maintain its three daily flights between CDG on the one hand, and Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong on the other.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Japan, <strong>Air France to offer a second daily flight to Tokyo Haneda<\/strong>In addition to its flights on <strong>Narita<\/strong>. A total of 16 flights a week to the two airports in the Japanese capital. Last but not least, <strong>the carrier is back to daily service to Bangkok<\/strong>In 2024, the number of flights will be increased to 10 per week at peak times in January and February. Capacity to Asia will, however, remain lower than in <strong>2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that in the Gulf, <strong>Air France launches its new route to Abu Dhabi on 29 October 2023<\/strong>, <strong>served daily by Airbus A350-900<\/strong> in cooperation with <strong>Etihad Airways<\/strong>. On <strong>Dubai<\/strong>The airline also offers 2 daily flights. Services to <strong>Tel Aviv<\/strong> remains for the moment <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/israel-compagnies-aeriennes-20231009.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">suspended<\/a>At least until 31 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/air-france-klm-etihad-partenariat-20230907.html\/\" data-id=\"156305\">Air France-KLM Group and Etihad strengthen their partnership<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-l-afrique-en-fluctuation\">Africa in flux<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Africa, services to <strong>Nairobi <\/strong>is now operated daily. While the flight to<strong> Dar Es Salam (Tanzania) via Zanzibar<\/strong>inaugurated in June 2023, has been extended to the winter season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the security situation, <strong>flights to\/from Niamey (Niger), Bamako (Mali) and Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) are still suspended<\/strong> until further notice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/mali-suspension-retour-air-france-20231011.html\/\" data-id=\"159713\">The Malian authorities backtrack on the return of Air France<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>On long-haul routes, <strong>Air France continues to roll out new cabins on Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus A350-900<\/strong>. The new standard cabins are available on certain flights to New York JFK and Newark, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/seaport-boston-mer-20160701.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boston<\/a>Rio de Janeiro, Bangkok, Dakar, Tokyo Haneda and Hong Kong, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/seoul-lincontournable-hub-mice-20220930.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Seoul <\/a>Incheon, Shanghai and Johannesburg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-des-lignes-saisonnieres-sur-le-court-et-moyen-courrier\">Seasonal routes on short and medium-haul routes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>On short and medium-haul routes, the new features still concern leisure routes, served only during the winter season. Air France is nevertheless offering more <strong>660 flights a day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winter season includes <strong>renewal of seasonal services<\/strong> between Paris-CDG and <strong>Troms\u00f8<\/strong> (Norway, 2 flights a week from 28 October 2023). In Finland, <strong>Rovaniemi<\/strong> 3 flights a week (7 flights during the Christmas holidays)<strong> and Kittila<\/strong> (1 flight a week). Finally, Air France will be offering one flight a week on<strong> Innsbruck<\/strong> in Austria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Service to <strong>Krakow to be extended into winter season<\/strong>with 3 flights a week operated by Embraer 190.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-highlight-box\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">KLM launches Marseille service, extends Rennes route and strengthens presence in Asia<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>KLM<\/strong>the other airline of the Franco-Dutch duo, is also continuing to strengthen. The carrier offers <strong>157 destinations <\/strong>of which <strong>92 in Europe<\/strong>. In Europe, the <strong>France <\/strong>benefits from more lines with the addition of <strong>Marseille<\/strong>served three times a day. The link <strong>Rennes-Amsterdam<\/strong>launched in summer, has been extended to winter with a daily frequency. The airline also offers two weekly seasonal flights to Rovaniemi in Finland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the<strong>North America<\/strong>KLM is offering 20% of additional seats on the <strong>Canada <\/strong>compared with last year. Each week, KLM will offer 11 flights to <strong>Toronto<\/strong>7 lines <strong>Calgary<\/strong>4 lines <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/montreal-energie-creative-20181024.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Montr\u00e9al <\/a><\/strong>and Vancouver and 3 to Edmonton. On the <strong>United States<\/strong>KLM now serves 19 cities, the main new feature being three additional flights to Washington, which is now a daily service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Caribbean, KLM will operate a daily service to Cura\u00e7ao and, in peak periods, will increase this to 11 flights a week. To Aruba\/Bonaire, KLM will operate a daily service. And it is offering three to four flights a week to Saint-Martin and Port of Spain (Trinidad and Tobago). Finally, Paramaribo (Surinam) will be served six times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the<strong>Africa<\/strong>, <strong>Accra, Johannesburg, Cape Town and Nairobi <\/strong>will be served daily. The line on <strong>Lagos <\/strong>increases to 6 frequencies per week. While <strong>Dar es Salaam\/Kilimanjaro, Entebbe and Kigali<\/strong> enjoy 5 flights a week. Two other flights a week also serve Zanzibar via Dar Es Salaam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On the<strong>Asia<\/strong>KLM announces the return of the <strong>Taipei <\/strong>via <strong>Manila <\/strong>(4 times a week) while <strong>Beijing <\/strong>and <strong>Shanghai <\/strong>are once again served by daily flights. <strong>Hong Kong <\/strong>a fourth frequency per week. On the <strong>Japan<\/strong>KLM is adding three extra flights on <strong>Tokyo<\/strong>with two daily flights. The airline also offers a daily flight to <strong>Bali <\/strong>via <strong>Singapore <\/strong>as well as 5 weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur\/Jakarta. To India, KLM is adding an extra flight on <strong>Bangalore<\/strong>5 times a week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <strong>Middle East <\/strong>is experiencing the biggest fluctuations. KLM suspends flights to <strong>Kuwait, Bahrain and Muscat<\/strong>. However, the airline is adding an extra flight to Riyadh and Dammam, for a total of six frequencies a week.<\/p>\n<\/aside>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two new destinations on the network, Abu Dhabi and Raleigh-Durham, and several seasonal routes in Europe mark the Air France winter schedule.
