Like most Britons, in fact, who are renowned for their imagination in finding new ways of doing things. <strong>evocative nicknames<\/strong> to the skyscrapers that have populated the London skyline. For example, the 'Gherkin' for 30 St Mary Axe designed by Norman Foster; or the 'talkie-walkie' for 20 Fenchurch Street designed by Rafle Vinoly; or the 'rappe \u00e0 fromages' for Leadenhall Tower designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The helicoidal fa\u00e7ade of the Ribbon Building, designed in Edinburgh by Jestico + Whiles, elicits a far less flattering analogy: \"the golden turd\". This design hotel extends to two other buildings: the James Craig Walk, a listed building dating from the 18th century, and the James Craig House.<sup>e<\/sup> century and the Quarter House, newly built in keeping with the city's traditional architecture. It seems that Marriott's luxury and lifestyle brand is a regular ribbon-cutter this year, having recently set up shop in Sydney in a building with an equally emblematic architecture and similarly named... The Ribbon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/w-hotels-sydney-20231031.html\/\" data-id=\"160941\">W Hotels: a new icon in Sydney<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p>As in Sydney - and in the future in Singapore, where the brand has just completed a project scheduled for 2028 - W Hotels is bringing its expertise to the table. <strong>lifestyle expertise <\/strong>The St. James Quarter is one of the largest leisure and shopping areas in the UK, with over 30 bars and restaurants and almost 80 shops in the shopping arcade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The hotel completes the panorama with its rooftop restaurant featuring South American-Japanese fusion cuisine, Sushisamba, its Brazilian-influenced cocktail bar, Joao's Place, and its signature W Lounge serving local, Welsh and Irish specialities. All of these trendy offerings can be found on the hotel's rooftop, <strong>a rooftop with 360\u00b0 views <\/strong>on the Scottish capital and its famous castle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This festive complex is also aimed at business customers, with <strong>five meeting rooms<\/strong>There are three bedrooms, one of 90 m\u00b2, three of 60 m\u00b2 and one more intimate room that can accommodate a dozen people. But the W hotel will also be able to count on a special professional clientele, musicians and artists, with a Sound Suite recording studio.
