On Wednesday, the company announced the <strong>EuroBonus Conscious Traveler programme launched in January<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\" <em>SAS, like the aviation industry, is moving towards a more sustainable future, and we invite our customers to join us in this effort. <\/em>\"says Aron Backstr\u00f6m, Vice-President of Product and Loyalty at SAS. \" <em>Together, we can move this <strong>major transformation <\/strong>by involving the entire ecosystem of airlines, manufacturers, policy-makers, suppliers and travellers themselves. The launch of<strong>EuroBonus Conscious Traveler <\/strong>reflects this reality and is a contribution to the<strong>the industry's objective of reducing CO2 emissions to zero by 2050<\/strong> - perhaps our most important project to date <\/em>\"he continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-quote\"><blockquote><p>Rather than post-flight offsetting, SAS believes that the aviation industry needs to focus on reducing overall emissions. This means increasing the production of sustainable aviation fuels, which is currently very expensive, and other emerging technologies that will enable more sustainable flying from the outset.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So what will this contribution mean? All the details are not yet known - SAS will reveal more at the <strong>official launch in January<\/strong> - but we already know what it won't lead to... <strong>SAS <\/strong>will abandon the logic of <strong>compensation<\/strong>which experts have been criticising for several years. The company <strong>is even abandoning carbon offsetting from 1 December<\/strong>. \" <em>Rather than post-flight offsetting, SAS believes that the aviation industry needs to focus on reducing overall emissions. Rewards that the company will also unveil in <strong>January <\/strong>next year. Among the initiatives unveiled by the company are the<strong>purchase of biofuel<\/strong> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/carburant-durable-saf-france-20230216.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>SAF<\/strong><\/a>) or <strong>environmentally-friendly products<\/strong> in the SAS EuroBonus shop. To make further progress towards responsible travel, passengers will also be able to <strong>reduce food waste<\/strong> ordering their meals in advance, or even foregoing certain meals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<aside class=\"wp-block-varenne-link-block\"><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/totalenergies-carburant-durable-acceleration-20230619.html\/\" data-id=\"150735\">TotalEnergies commits to producing SAF and Safran electric motors<\/a><\/p><\/aside>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\" <em>Through the Conscious Traveler initiative, we are giving our passengers a platform to actively show their support and help SAS on its journey towards a more sustainable future.<\/em> \"says Aron Backstr\u00f6m. \" <em>By making more conscious
