Long live KM Malta Airlines!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It's officially a done deal. <strong>On 30 March, flights operated by the national carrier Air Malta will be the last of their kind.<\/strong> half a century of history. The very next day <strong>the first flights of KM Malta Airlines<\/strong>the designated successor. The new entity has just received its Air Operator Certificate from the Maltese Civil Aviation Authority. At the same time, it unveiled its network plans for the 2024 summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a press release, the airline states that it will be concentrating its services on major cities.<strong> A total of 17 air routes from Valletta, representing 8,546 flights and 1.43 million seats over the summer.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>KM Malta Airlines will be offering three daily frequencies to Catania in Sicily - the Italian city closest to Malta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">18 flights to Paris, 5 to Lyon <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The carrier will offer two daily flights to London Heathrow, Munich and Rome Fiumicino. <strong>Paris <\/strong>will benefit from <strong>18 weekly flights - 10 to CDG, 8 to Orly. <\/strong>In France, <strong>Lyon <\/strong>will also be served with 5 weekly flights. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.voyages-d-affaires.com\/en\/aeroport-zurich-expansion-20220826.html\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Zurich <\/a>will have 8 flights a week, while Amsterdam, Brussels, London Gatwick, Milan and Vienna will have daily services. Finally, three flights a week will connect Malta with Berlin, D\u00fcsseldorf, Madrid and Prague. However, KM Malta Airlines will no longer be serving Geneva for the time being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"\u00a0<em>The vision, ambition and mandate of KM Malta Airlines is to protect and enhance the connectivity of the Maltese islands with Europe and beyond. As well as supporting the continued economic development of the islands and becoming a successful and sustainable airline.<\/em>\" said a company press release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-pas-de-transfert-de-passagers-d-une-compagnie-a-l-autre\">No transfer of passengers from one airline to another<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>KM Malta Airlines is expected to operate <strong>a fleet of eight Airbus A320neos<\/strong> in two-class configuration. This compares with 10 aircraft for Air Malta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The airline has just indicated that it will not transfer passengers with flight bookings after 30 March 2024. <strong>The carrier is cancelling all flight bookings on Air Malta for travel beyond this date.<\/strong>. Air Malta will refund customers the full cost (including taxes) of tickets already issued for travel dates on or after 31 March 2024. Alternatively, customers may change their dates free of charge to fly on Air Malta until 30 March 2024.
