The NH Hotels and NH Collection brands, which you have owned since 2018, are well known to business travellers in Europe. But your Asian group, Minor Hotels, is probably less well known. Could you tell us a little about it?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marion Walsh-H\u00e9douin -<\/em><\/strong> This group was founded some fifty years ago by Bill Heineke, who is still our Chairman. In his early years, this American by birth - and now a Thai citizen - followed his parents to Asia, before setting up his own business in Thailand at the age of 17, when he was still a minor<\/strong>. Hence the name of our group, which now owns shops, restaurants and hotels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How many hotels do you offer worldwide today?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marion Walsh-H\u00e9douin -<\/em><\/strong> We have 540 establishments worldwide through our eight brands, including our flagship brand, Anantara<\/strong>which has around fifty luxury hotels around the world. Alongside this, we launched Avani in 2011, a brand targeting a younger, trendier clientele with contemporary hotels. At the same time, our growth has also been driven by acquisitions such as the Portuguese group Tivoli, the Australian chain Oaks and the Elewana safari camps in Kenya and Tanzania. And of course the acquisition of the NH, NH Collection and nhow brands<\/a> in 2018, which has enabled us to extend our geographical coverage. Before, we were present in around twenty countries; today we are in 56.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The big news for your group in 2024, and which concerns business travel in France, is your arrival in Paris this spring with three NH hotels. Is this a start?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Marion Walsh-H\u00e9douin - <\/em><\/strong>In fact, next March we will be taking over three establishments that will bear the NH brand, one near the Op\u00e9ra, another next to the Gare de l'Est and the last a stone's throw from the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es. The latter will then be renovated and relaunched as the NH Collection in 2025. With NH hotels in Lyon, Nice and Toulouse, as well as the nhow in Marseille and theAnantara Plaza in Nice<\/a>we will reach a dozen hotels in France<\/strong>. But we would obviously like to have more in the future, as we already have a significant presence in Germany, the Benelux countries and Italy. France was missing from this list, and we are looking for new opportunities to develop in major cities through our different brands, from NH to Anantara. Will it one day be present in Paris? I don't see why not. In any case, we would certainly like to have more hotels in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
